where do you get this kit Sir? and the scale?

thankx ~S~

The kit is my own and it is designed specifically to fit the glass fuselage version of the Brian Taylor 1:5.3 scale Spitfire. With the exception of the bulkheads the parts are suitable for use in any 1/5 scale Spitfire and I have sold quite a number of them to guys building the Yellow and Pica Spitfires. It has also been used in the built up fuselage version of the Taylor airplane with some changes to the bulkheads. Please contact me directly for more information if you would like.

On the shirt design:  Anything with a Spitfire on it is beautiful!
Winged Brothers:
For those who like to read about Spitfire in action, I read a great book by George Loving, Woodbine Red Leader  (Amazon.com's where I got mine), an American pilot who flew, first, Spitfires; later he was outfitted with the Mustang-you guessed it, another Merlin!  He wrote from a different format than any other of the pilots I've read of: he had kept his flight log with notes, and used those to reflect on when back home, safe and sound, like many pilots who later wrote memoirs. But, he kept that dated outline intact. It made for a very direct, fact-based read that I truly enjoyed. This gave it a "you're right here on this day" feel.
Lieutenant Loving went on to retire as a General in our United States Air Force, a truly great combat pilot and leader. I recommend it highly, especially because it contains neat stuff about...............SPITFIRE !!!

I have a Dave Platt 65" wing span select scale. Still in the box. It was going to be my winter project. Spring is just around the corner and i have worked on three other planes. My daughter and I have 1 more to finish and then the spitfire since it will require the most time. I'm hoping that joining the brotherhood will get me excited about getting it started. I have a Platt T-28 with a 20cc areo three blade prop. I finished last year and flew through the summer.
Count me in.

I'm in...got a Cermark 71" Spit MKIX from a guy two summers ago.
Have yet to get it in the air.
It was finished in a couple of high torque servos, elevator and rudder, along with a new power plant...dropped the OS FS 120 and put in a ST2000.
Same AUW and more two cycle power.

Looking forward to it's maiden...now that the annoying day job isn't cutting into my fun time as much..

Cheers,

Brad,
I have a Century Jet Spitfire. Its been flown but Im doing a complete refurbish of it. Engine upgrade, radio upgrade and new paint. Putting a 4.2 in it for power, and all new hitech hitorque servos. Ill drag it out sometime this week and get a few pictures of it in its current condition. Not far off from finisihing it, just finiding time among all the other build jobs I have going on for others. That will come to an end by middle of next month. Ive cut off new projects so I can finish my own stuff this summer.

Why, of course, old chap! You'll fit perfectly in our Training Department's "Target Unit". You see, we have a shortage of live 109's for aerial gunnery practice...

Hi Sakai, good to see you still having fun. The aviators here seem to be enjoying the kind of excitement that you and I have enjoyed on our Park Flyer fighter threads. Since an enemy Messerschmitt pilot has been accepted on this thread in such a fun way I guess it might be acceptable for me to mention my new HH Hurricane. I feel like my "Battle of Britain" commeration air force is now complete with two (2) Spitfires and the new HHH.

She weighs four pounds empty. I had to recalculate the scale numbers to convince myself that the killer size PZ 109 and the HHH were perfect scale size to each other. The HHH with its significantly higher wing loading is surely going to fly uncomfortably faster than the 109. I am working on developing the courage to maiden it.

Better run before I get shot down. I shall return.

Okay, I still have to hold my breath but so far my posts are posting. You never know when an enemy may sneak up on you, its always the one you don't see that gets you.

Like with my Mk IX PZ Spit, extra ventiliation was added to the HHH. My excuse for not maidening the new ship has to do with testing various props and the possible defective stock battery. I am still testing the stock battery that is behaving strangely at the moment. It has been discharged twice now and has yet to provide either enough amps or duration. Unless I am told differently, I will assume more time is needed to bring it up to expectations.

While I'm here maybe a Spitfire brother can answer a couple of questions. The plane came with wing tip clear and colored "Light" covers. Which would be most appropriate for an active duty fighter? Wing "light covers" come in clear and aluminum colors. Which ones need to be on the HHH?

One more little thing that really bugs me - what is there about the ESC switch that I would like to do without by simply connecting the two lead out wires together (short circuit just like a real switch is supposed to be) that keeps my receiver from working when that silly little prone-to-fail-switch is not installed?

Aim High, Fly, Fight, and Win!

Out.
