saramos, AMEN!

As I have said before, so say I again, There is so much good stuff on this thread that it is hard to try to keep up with it all, much less respond to it all. Since it has been some time since the FIRST OF THE FEW has been mentioned, for the sake of the thread newbies Post #580 shows an easy way to bring up that priceless piece of classic history. A lead pipe cinch way to purchase Spitfire Ace 'Johnnie' Johnson's "WING LEADER The top-scoring Allied fighter pilot of World War II" book is spelled out on Post #588 (for reasons that may become obvious I don't order anything off the web). And of course, everybody must play the fabulous Spit stuff on Post #717!

Before putting up a fighter flying machine maiden today; I was pleasantly minding my own business trying to tidy up a final post question about batteries, my dandy new ship, etc., when suddenly the PC quit allowing me to type. I ran several scans on it but, no cigar. Fortunately, my obsolete web TV is working well here, so far.

Okay, first, were there ever any Spitfires with that unusual drag producing projection behind the prop spinner like what exists on my HH Hurricane? I got a great answer from "Flight Journal" August 2012, Page 10 about the Hurricane, Mustang, and other fighters concerning that unappealing projection that also appeared on some of them.

I am currently working on making amends for my somewhat impertinent question that I originally sent. I use BUDD DAVISSON'S inspirational editorial rhetoric a lot in RCU's fighter threads and plan to try to compliment his fabulous latest work entitled "MIRACLES." If I can just get it right we may be able to really get things going.

I'll add the ideas just before I was shot down here later - if all goes well.

Quickly, before it can be blown away, please check out the final remarks on my final post before my Albatros maiden flight on the Park Flyers and Backyard Flyers forum.

Out.

Does anyone have any information on the b/w movie that was made about the development of the Spitfire and the men involved in the project. I believe it may have been a Briitish movie but I am not sure. I have only seen it once and it was a very long time ago? Thanks for any help you can provide. This may be a good time to also list good movies that involve the Spitfire as well.

Warbirdrcer-
Please add me to the mix. In Sacramento I'm known by those who don't know me as the guy who races the Spitfires.

I've had:
Great Planes Spitfire Kit (4/5 of them built) One currently racing with 5 in the "wings"
Great Planes Spitfire ARF(3 of them in the past) only memories left
Top Flight 60 size Kit - returned to unasembled version due to Saito ceasing to run
Kyosho 40 and 50 Spitfire ARF's bashed for racing with YS 120's Two currently racing with one in the "wings"
CMP 50 size Spitfire ARF currently flying with a YS 70 (fun, but a lot of work to keep the motor in)
ESM 120 size Spitfire ARF no longer have, damaged beyond my repair desire and then given to a friend to return to flight status
Little electric Kyosho

Also have the 1/12 Spitfire with an OS 25fx which races monthly for the Outlaw races.

I would be honored to join the proud members of the Spitfire Brotherhood.

Sonny, you bet it is priceless. June 2nd he flew, by buddy box his first IMAA event with his T-41 trainer (Modified SR Kadit kit to 80+ inches, flaps, modified tail, and ailerons).

He also like to assist in flying his Spitfire and our L-4.

retired my little Pica spitfire yesterday. It is the original one Dave Plat designed, plans even show the old OS 60 side valve engine drawn on it.

Might sell it off. Has retracts and the ASP .61, engine is fine but carb has had it. Plans, instruction manual and spare canopy come with it.

Got ro get my 90" Mk XII in the air and build my 96" Mk VIII

Check out the Warbirds Over Denver thread for some nice static and formation shots of us flying Spits at last weekend's event. One of the Spitfire gaggles had 5 in the air at the same time...too much fun!
