Everyone has different opinions but I like Futaba gyros, they're so rock solid and so reliable. I used a gy 401 on my VE, I use it now on my Logo 10 and a gy 240 on my Hummingbird and the gyro does exactly what it needs to, hold the tail solid.

As far as batteries, get at least 8 cell packs, I prefer Sanyo hrsc 2600's, if not, then 2400 nicd. GP 3300's would be ok too... but definitely 8+ cells and start putting money aside for a brushless set up. I totally don't mean to burst your bubble but the brushed set up isn't going to last very long and you probably will be unhappy with the power. Don't worry though, on a nice brushless set up, the Voyager is a very nice and smooth flyer and really comes alive, you'll be very happy with it.

Thanks astronut30

I am very new to heli's, just got my HB to hover around the garage without crashes, so poor power will not bother me too much, using the VE and a computerised radio as a better trainer then the HB, that all

But i will put some $$ aside for when i can truely fly these things

It's not only the power, it's the maintenance, inconsistency plus it won't last that long, I would say you're lucky if you get 20 flights out of that motor and esc, plus the VE needs to have over 1500rpm headspeed to avoid the dreaded wobbles.

As a matter of fact, I've seen the stock esc and motor go for $100 on ebay, it may be a good idea to try and sell it so you have that much to go towards a brushless set up rather than nothing in the near future...

Despite that, the Voyager E is a cool heli and you will enjoy it, having owned one in the past I don't mean to rain on your parade in any way, I'm just trying to help, if maybe did a search on ezone or possibly here, you'll see that it's not only me but just about all the Voyager E owners will agree and you will soon find out... That motor and esc is actually supposed to be with 7 cells, but you will be wasting your money if you get seven cells because they just won't cut it, you'll probably be getting 3-4 minutes of run time with poor power and the VE needs higher headspeeds because of the weight and play in the head design, otherwise it will feel so sluggish and wobbly and no fun at all, whether your new to heli's or not... other than the stock motor and esc though, you won't need any upgrades for a while as it is a nice quality heli..

Enjoy your VE, there's a lot of cool stuff for it out too

Thanks Again for the Feed back astronut30

It's much welcomed.

I know this is not the best heli for it's size out of the box but the price was right.

$250 for the heli shipped, built with heavy JR servo's( you'll see them for sale soon.

$255 for JR 8103H with RX.

best i could find after searching for 4 days,

Hey man, that is a deal! Even if it didn't come with motor and esc that's a deal seriously. You're in good shape money wise in this bird.

have fun!

There are 16 hours left on that auction and I bet it bids up above what you paid for yours.

At $250 you're still in great shape, it's a good excuse to put a carbon fiber boom on it, hehe...

Quick update, the Voyager has arrived, and it is in great shape, small scrapes on the bottom of the landing gear, that all,

Waiting for the TX and RX, should be in by Thurs.

Can't wait

Simbo, how are you going with the Voyager? Hummingbird it's difficult to learn on I know I have 2 of them also a Corona. It's no comparison, Corona is so stable compare to HB even with collar and swashball mods. I am thinking of selling one of them, just too much hassle.
Anyway with the Voyager, what will be a good brushed motor to use? Like with Corona the AF motor is a good choice, how about VE?
I also like to have a CP heli and Voyager available on the ebay sometime is good. I have never seen an eolo though.

Tocano

Can't tell you how well it flies let, crashed it when i was trimming it out, not that bad just the main blades cracked, waiting for new ones to come in.

Lot of folks say go brushless motor, because the stock motor burns out after 10 or so flights, but i am wait before i go brushless, to see how many flights i can get out of the stock one, plus it will give me time to save up the $$.

never said i could fly the HB LOL, can just hover around in the garage, going to be a big differents once i get the VE out in the open

Sorry to hear about your heli. Can't you glue it back if it's a minor cracked? You can replace it with the new one after you get it trimmed. Just in case. Safety first!!!
I tried to fly my HB again last night, it's still very challenging. Maybe a HH gyro will make all the difference. I must say even though HB is difficult to fly, it must have thought me how to hover heli. I think without the learning experience with the HB I wouldn't have managed to hover my Corona on the first flight.
Maybe I should get GY240 for my HB, which cost more than the heli.

Is CSM200 as good as GY240? Just checked my LHS sell CSM200 US$35 cheaper.
I have GY401 and very happy with it so I though I stick with Futaba. But if CSM is as good I will give it a try. I don't choose JR because people have mixed result with them.
