Status: offline 		I have a new one in the box, I've had it for years. I have two .45's, the six head bolt ones with the big S on the side, and I really love those. Is this a good one too? I'm thinking about getting rid of it, but not sure if I should keep it. I don't have a future plane for it. I normally have speed type planes, does this like RPM??? Thanks!

Status: offline 		you can get about 50 for it used ,new in box about 110, but if someone really wants it they'll pay more..... i had a really nice Saturno 60 it sold for 65


crank it up, and let me know how the NIB engine runs, ill give you 60 for it

I have gotten rid of plenty of really good engines over the years. I miss my G21/.35 R/C the most. I still can't believe how stupid I was to let that screamer go. It was a .40 killer.

I've never owned or ran a Bullring .40. I did own/run/fly an ST S.40 Bluehead back in the very early eighties. While the engine throttled and stayed running perfectly, I had K&B .40 R/C engines that would disgrace the ST Bluehead S-40 with ease. I never understood why ST would release such a doggy engine, when their .35 engine, the one that I just mentioned, would out perform their latest S.40 Bluehead by 1k rpm on the same propeller.

Should you keep it? I don't know. I'd have to run it before making up my mind, were it me in your position.

Status: offline 		I had one of the blueheads too. Wasn't real impressed by it's power either but it held up well. After about ten years it finally took a dirt nap.

Status: offline 		I have a ST Bullring .46 It is a great sport engine. Reliable as the day is long and decent power. I think they are still popular in CL stunt circles. I use the .46 as a trainer engine for my kids.

Status: offline 		Thanks guys, I was thinking it wouldn't be as strong as a TT .40 Pro, but I bet as a sport engine it would live longer than the current engines. I guess I might sell it now...

Status: offline 		The only thing that I have against it is its displacement. Why carry around the weight of that block when a larger bored version produces more power and weighs less? I don't fly in any competition classes that require a .40 these days. All of my medium sized engines are .45 and larger, up to a .58 (Enya .61).

I'm lying. I did pick up an Enya .40 CX a while back. It was ultra inexpensive and I needed the muffler for a larger CX.

Status: offline 		I bought one of those from Tower back in 1984. He replaced the K&B 4011 on my Midwest Stick and it took 5 months of break in before I realized its potential. That is so typical of ST's. That engine will last forever and will only run better the more he is used. Typical ST. BTW, The K&B was a great engine, very fast, but he came with the box style carb which turned out to be a recall because of carb issues.

I flew the G21/46 for a couple of years myself. A very reliable engine that will last forever, but, again, not as powerful as the K&B .40 (Perry carb original model) swinging a 10x6. I should have tried the ST G21/46 with an 11x6 prop. It might have turned out to be more powerful over all than the K&B .40.

Being an automobile drag race participant and fan, I "grew up" thinking in terms of the higher rpm engine always produces the most power. For a decade or so, that was true, both in models and automobiles.

Anyway, I'm sure that someone will buy that engine and it won't go to waste. How much did you ask for it?
