I guess it is a mistake in the instructions...........I can confirm also that the linkage ( measured as per the picture on page 11,step 13 ),works for me...........Be warned though it is a bit of a fiddle to get all the geometry correct !!! Bit tight for fingers and thumbs,so stay cool and calm when doing it !!!

Nick,

     We have not yet ordered our Robart Aluminum wheels.    We intend to run the stock units until the plastic bearings get sloppy.    I have now passed sixty flights and they are doing fine.    I  would call Robart on the status of those wheels.   It seems odd to have to wait so long.

Well, I figured it out! It was a simple matter of making sure that my Tx (JR 11X) had 150% (max) travel adjustment for L and R flaps. After ensuring that the pushrods were the same length and the servo arms were on the same spline, I used "Sub Trim" to get the flaps to the "UP" position and aligned their training edges with the trailing edges of the ailerons. From there, I used the "Flap System" menu to get the correct deflection for 20 and 40 degrees.

Man, those flaps are really hanging low at 40 degrees of deflection! I programmed the elevator compensation as per the manual for both 20 and 40 degrees of flaps and hopefully, someone will report with a flight review (like you, Nick!) as to whether the compensation works well.

Hoped to get a longer video up of my first taxi run at our flying strip.........but due to technical problems with my "cameraman" only got these 34seconds !!! ( the nav and landing lights show up very well in bright sunlight,but that's not too obvious in the very short video !!! )...........very pleased with the results so far.

The OS at the moment ( even with a very rich setting and not "peaking out") appears to have alot of "grunt" with the Biela 19 x 8 4BL,looks to be very well powered,not that I will be using it all mmmmmm !!!

I am away for a short while,so hope to get the maiden done on my return.........all things "being equal" and the weather is kind !!!

Status: offline 		Anyone know if tecnew 30cc wings are compatible with the old H9, P-47 1.50 razorback?
I don't expect the wing tube to be in the same spot, but if the wings fit, then, the fuse could be modified accordingly.
Anyone have the old and new... to see for the rest of us?

Here's some info:
The Horizon Hobby Cockpit box is about 6 3/4" wide at the rear, 6 7/8" wide in the front, 6 1/4" long, and 3 3/4" deep at cockpit wall.  The dash board is about 5 1/8" high.  It comes in green and you can add your own color dots to spruce it up, as well as a gun sight to add some interest.

Status: offline 		@DHC6 the wings are the same from the original to the new one if you are referring the fit to the fuselage. The wing tube is in a different location and the anti-rotation pins may be in slightly different locations.

Thanks for the wing info- As an architect who used to do restaurants for some big box brands, we always tried to use the same chasis and harpoints whenever possible- as an economic savings- I'm surprised larger model manufacturers haven't done the same. this is what the real aircraft plants did as the types developed

I figure, If need be; with some modifications to the older razorback (reconfiguring the wing saddle hardpoints for the tube and pins) , anyone with the old fuselage could adapt the new wings as replacements to the old- This new one is nice, but I know a-lot of people still prefer the razorback.
It would be cool if horizon would make interchangeable fuselages, cowlings, & canopies. Too bad the dmodel esigners didn't consider this from day 1. Think of it like cell phone charge adapters.
Therefore the same could be done to make P-51A,B, C from the D in production, as well as a P-40 to a P-36, This P-47 razorback to the bubble variants of course- This also applies to Corsairs, Spitfires, T-34's etc... The list goes on.
Suddenly there are a few dies and a-lot of customer options/ add ons for many more planes. Think of the marketshare H9 (or any other manufacturer who had the forsignt, time and capital) could capture if there were suddently that many more options of the same plane for people to choose from.
All we have to do now is get the cost of these parts down, given that a wing set is nearly 2x the cost of a TF Kit for the whole plane.

Just a thought~If any manufacturers are listening.

Ive been working on my p-47 and its pretty close to complete at this point. Went with the electric gear but I cant seem to narrow down a decision on the motor. I have a Saito 57twin but its to big and does not fit the cowl. Aside from going electric does anyone know of any better sounding engine than a single cylinder 2 stroke? I would love if I could find a little radial that would fit the cowl but they seem either to big or too small. maybe a single 4 stroke might be my only option?

May be worth sending a PM to Alf Hasen ( " Affas" )..........he is using the 4 stroke petrol Moki ( 57VT I think ).......not too sure how he is getting on with it.Last post he had flown it,although it sounded like it may be a bit down on power......but he was "running in "

I have seen the single moki but like you said it may be a bit underpowered and Id really like 2 or more cylinders. I wish Saito would convert some of there 3 cyl. engines to gas! I saw a vid where they had a prototype but nothing availible yet. I'll keep my eyes open I guess, Thanks for your input

Is the video the "Petrol R450 R3"..........nice,I have a BNIB one of these to power my 6year build ( so far ) on my T/F Giant Corsair.........Petrol would be great in these 450's !!!

The biggest complaint from customers on the Razorback was regarding the small wheels. From the beginning we set out to fit a more appropriate wheel size, which we found couldn't be accommodated with the tube spar in the old location. We felt it was more important to make a more scale presentation than to preserve commonality with a long-discontinued predecessor.

I have 6 flights on it with the Hacker A60-16L on 12s 5000 mah with the 20x15 prop.... it moves out really nice and has tons of power.
Flight time are 6 minutes of pretty hard flying. I'm sure I can prop down and still have plenty of power.

But what I'm going to do since I have a ICE 160 HV and I'm only pulling like 92 amps is set up a dual rate on my throttle and dial it back to like 80 amps at full power. This way I can take off on high rate.. the go to low power to help out my flight time. I can kick in high rate for burner passes

you only want to do this if you have lots of head room and cooling to the ESC as the lower throttle setting will build up more heat that the full power setting.

I'm in winter mode right now and doing more building, maintance and park flying..... need to get to the field soon but it's been wet and cold

I'll work on a nice video when the weather gets better....this is one really nice flying bird, very easy to fly

I know John us Cali guys are kind of wimps when it comes to weather
I have a 90/60 rule.... if its over or under that its a good time to stay home

We have had a ton of rain , wind and temps in the 30's in the mornings.... but heating to the high 40's mid 50's

I'll get out there soon.... I'm sure will hit a warm dry spell soon and I'll hit it up

I'm going to miss the AMA this year, went down last year.. really enjoyed it! but I've spent to much money on R/C as of late


You have a real winner on your hands with this plane, I couldn't believe how easy to was to fly and land. It's like a trainer.... but looks so good in the sky! I'll work on a video soon

There are ton of videos of the older version flying on electric... it's very close to the same plane, this is just an updated better version.
It may be that this is still a pretty new plane and it's winter, not as much flying going on. I'll try and get some of mine soon.
It goes really nice

This video is of the older version and is pretty heavy with the custom speaker box and sound system... so you can be much lighter
mine is 22 lbs loaded with packs
