Those are neat, but you'll never see them once the wheels are installed.

If you are planning to make the JP heavy, the bumpstops will actually help preventing the tracks rubbing against upper hull going over obstacles. I fabricated bumpstops on my KT/JT and Tiger, they work very well.

The covers installed were from ETO.
Wayne sent me some with the bump stops, but I had already installed these before I received his.

Now that the Sturmi is done I have started back to work on my JP.
I decided to make it a late G1 (Nov/Dec 44) which requires a little modification to the Tamiya upper hull.
Tamiyas upper hull incorporates features of both JP variants, so I started modifying it.
I removed the 3 pilz from the roof of the upper hull as they were a later addition.
Also removed the 3 spikes for the range finder tripod (have the schumo replacements...better detailed).

The fuel and coolant caps are correct for a G1, but the engine air intakes are configured for a G2 that used the Panther G engine deck arrangement. The G1 used the Panther A engine deck, so the cutting begins....

I was able to make the grating for the front intakes, so I'm satisfied it will make a close facsimile of a G1.

I started work on the exhausts, triple pipe exhausts for G1.
I drilled out the pipes and added some missing details and made a crank guide.

Now that the parts I was waiting on arrived, it's time to get back to work.
I ordered replacement armored fan housings, since the ones provided in the kit and molded to th hull are later type.
The replacements ordered come with 2 housings per set, one each for a Panther D and Panther A.
I needed 2 Panther A housings, so I ordered 2 sets, if anyone needs the housings for a Panther D let me know ...I have 2.
I have them temporarily mounted with RTV till I drill the bolt holes for permanent mounting.
