Fun scale Fok EIII (the one that Larry Folk is designing)

half scale N-11

lots of choices hurts my brain trying to figure it out

You've only just finished your 1/3 scale N11 and already that's too small? I don't think I could keep up with the Dawn Patrol Jones in the US.

Whadayamean Don? I,ve been flying it for 2 seasons now........its not like I just finished it last month and now I'm moving on to something else.

Besides, the half scale is for the 2014 Dayton Dawn Patrol Rendezvous. It's the 100 year anniversary of the beginning of WWI and the Air Force Museum is planning a big event!
We, the Dawn Patrol Jones, are also planning on a big event - there might be as many as a dozen half scale models. It will be a grand time!

I'm guess I'm counting since you stopped adding details to it. But, really? It's been flying for 2 seasons? I really have to pick up the pace with my own building!

Sounds like it'll be a wonderful event all around! Considering that I've never even built a 1/4 scale model, I guess it just seems strange when 1/2 scale WWI are already starting to "no big deal."

Hey Don - Time flies when you're having fun, right? Yep, two full seasons now.......I'll still be flying it for the next couple of seasons, too.

As for the half scale not being a big deal - for me it's a very big deal........been wanting to do a half scale since about 1985. Back then the technology wasn't up to today's standards and it was just a pipe dream, but now things are quite different........the sky's the limit! (sorry 'bout that)

Art, are you going to run a thread on the half scale? Sure would be nice to be able to follow along.

OK Ladies and germs, this will be my last installment of the 1918 Hergt Monoplane build thread.

I have made my last improvement (cheek cowls) to the airframe and as of Black Friday I no longer own the model.

I have very much enjoyed this thread. The design, the model and all the kibitzing which occurred.........and on and on and on.....I could ramble for a while here, but I won't....or maybe I already did, it's kind of hard to tell sometimes......

So Sir Art; where did it end up going? As if I don't already know. What are you going to tease us with next?

The Hergt went to a good home, somewhere it will be well cared for and much appreciated.

As for your second question......stay tuned, I'm sure something will pop up in the next two weeks!
