Status: offline 		It is now official; we will hold a Jets Rally at the Sherbrooke airport (QC, Canada).
We organized and planned everything to make this event fun for YOU pilots:

- DATES : June 1 to June 3, 2012
- 3 FULL flying days from 9:30am to 8pm without interruption*
- Full (newly paved) airport runway (6000 foot per 150 foot)
- Saturday "Get Together" diner
- Free coffee every morning
- Onsite camping and RV parking*
- Restaurant on site
- Jet fuel and oil on site (100 LL, Jet A-1, shell turbine oil)
- KISS flight control system
- No big (identification) number in your back ;-)
- No music facing the pilot box ;-)
- Fair Sponsor raffle
- Electricity for everyone
- Pilot tent (big tent)*
- Tents, tables and chairs rental available (pricing later)
- Overnight security on site and night storage*
- (Int.) Airport pickup service (crate or person) for those who came in plane
- NO visitors pitt access, so no flying interruption*
- Attendance fee is 20$
- We will provide later a list of ALL hotel/motel and camping around and provide some deal.
- We will provide later a list of touristic site around for our wife or children (for those who are accompanied)
- It is still time for you to suggest new ideas and changes for you to be happy ;-)

REALLY IMPORTANT: PILOTS and SPONSOR: please:
- Let us know if you think you will come.
- Let us know if you would like to sponsor the event, we NEED your help.
- Give us your ideas and wish list… We will take them in consideration.

The airport will be closed for us, but takeoff-landing windows period will occur during the day for real aircraft, but airport will mostly be for us.

Spaces for RV and tents are without services, I’m working to get us electricity and water, I will let you know latter. Also RV site is just outside the airport (besides the airport parking).

The event have been organize in a way to provide as much flying time as possible, public will be invite on site, but will be separated from you by gates and other infrastructures, but they will be near enough to watch and ask questions. Also we will have a demo tent on site with jets and pilots, this way public will be able to ask as many questions to the demo responsibles instead of to you pilots.

Some elements like the big tent may not occur or not be there since we have the access to the airport restaurant; it may depend on the attendance, sponsor and public response… But fun and cool elements for you pilots will be there…

I will try to go for sure to that wonderfull event that seems will be. I have never been in Canada and I am really looking forward to take part in this show and do some turist.

I have had a chance to review the scheduled jet activity along the east coast. Unfortunatly, I will not be able to attend your event due to a conflict with the "Liberty Bell Jets" in PA.
This one will draw participation from very far away, and may, to some degree affect your weekend planning.
I am fully aware of how to plan and produce an event as I host the "Capital Jets" in Albany NY. If you are fortunate enough to reschedule, perhaps you will get a rather larger showing of those of us along the eastern coast.

We may reschedule, but we cant do it between june 15 and july 15 because of an other event at the airport,
but if many pilots vote for a new date and say they will come to our event we will seriously take in consideration...

But it is also impossible to meet the need of everyone... But since we realy want this event to be a success, we are all ears...

Status: offline 		Our first idea was to do it on the first weekend of june, just after the First in Flight (North Caroline),
but because of the other event at the airport and because of some restrictions with a flight school, we chose to do it latter in the summer...
So before the first weekend of august, it harder for us to get the entire airport just for us...

Status: offline 		Robin, I will chime in with Frank on the date.  I planned to go down to Liberty Bell, that same weekend, as well since we gave Mike some teasing about having his rally this year.  He didn't hold it last year for personal reasons and was trying to decide if it was worth carrying on with it.  I was really hoping that you would keep your late June date that you had origionally announced and since I only live down in the capital district of New York, I was looking forward to attending your jet rally.  I know that it is tough to pick an open date for the northeast that isn't in conflict with some other event some of us regularly attend.  Keep us informed if you do decide to change it.

But in the past years, the Michigan Jets and the New England were around the same dates.

I REALLY need your input about those dates before changing them...

I would also stay away from Liberty Bell, Mike has a very large draw from the East coast.

Status: offline 		Robin, I too would like to attend your Jet Rally, however Liberty Bell is one I connot miss! New England has not been announced yet but is usually two weeks after Liberty Bell making it good for the 10,11,12 weekend. I think Michigan Jets has enough distance that you don't have to worry about conflicting dates.

That is correct, The 7th Annual New England Jet Rally is being planned for Aug 17-19 2012. I would love to attend your event since it has been some time since we have had the opportunity to fly in Canada. Unfortunately being planned so close to my event I would not be able to attend others from the northeast states that attend these long running events would probably agreethat's alot of traveling in 3 weeks time. Three events in a row are just not in the cards for me, as I can tell you from experience that jet events of this magnitude don't plan themselvesits alot of hard work. Here in the Northeast we usually try to plan the events that draw the same group of pilots 2 weeks apart to give everyone a little breather and to not put a damper on pilot attendance from event to event. Best of luck to you.
If you come up with a date change I would be more than happy to bring up my snow bird...........
