I've started a build thread over on RCG for anyone interested in seeing more details. This plane has a lot of differences than the Wind 110, curved leading edges, an easily removable glass cowl, T-canalizer and updated color scheme, so far I am impressed with the fit and finish...

I ordered one. I don't know if i am going to use the recommended set-up. The idea of flying F3A with a 6S-set-up.....? Not yet for me. For now i wait untill the phone rings and the one on the other side of the line tells me that a big box has arrived

My Seba WindS 50e fly's great on 6S, it's got endless vertical, I had a Wind 110 that flew great on 6S and I found a video of the maiden of the MythoS (looked to be Japanese) on 6S and it looks plenty powerful. It's not about the volts, it's about the watts, this just means you'll see more amps required...

It's designed for the Hacker A60-5XS or 6XS, short can, lighter weight motors...

Deliveries of the 2m Mythos have now begun. The Scandinavian Sebart dealer autopartner.se got their first models about a week ago. I got one of them. I have previously flown the WindS Pro so the Mythos was a logic next step. I have attached some pictures documenting the differences between them.

Both models share the same fuselage. Apart from the obvious difference in wing planform, the Mythos wing is 6mm thinner and stab 5mm thicker. The wing also has a bit more sweep. Other changes are rudder in balsawood, conventional aileron servo installation, more tail anhedral and different canopy. Hardware kit is identical so the hinges are better to be replaced by robarts.

I’m looking forward to see how it flies. One thing I like about it already... it has a pronounceable name.

/David

How did you get your canopy to look like that? Silver paint on the inside?

Looks nice!

Rendegade, the 2m version comes like that. I believe you are confusing it with the 125 version (with clear canopy).

luckymacy, the fuse is a GF/CF mix, nicely made in sandwich with a thin foam material. I don’t know the price in any international currency, but to give you a relative difference, in Sweden it is 5400SEK for the 125 and 15000SEK for the 2m. Considering the 125 is only slightly smaller it is definitely better value.

Hi Stom. The spinner size is about 85mm. The supplied spinner is 82mm and is not a proper fit (for pentatic). On my WindS I used a 85mm Marquet spinner (before it plowed through the woods due to a Tx failure) and it is the perfect match for this fuselage.

Dave K. The Mythos 2m comes with no motor hardware, but for anyone who do not want to build their own mount, there are premade kits available (for instance www.ralphschweizer.com).

Hi Reko,
Thank you. The 82-85 mm diameter is right for me. I like the Mythos and I want it also. I will install it with US Contra Rotating System ( I got it from your link: www.ralphschweizer.com ).
Could you tell me the weight of parts?

Tom

So far I know of two Mythos planes with Contra Drive systems, and the pilots are both very pleased with the combination.

The slim fuse, the thinner wing, and the thicker stab, are all the right direction to go for good performance with a Contra Drive.

Brennar is correct the Mythos is a great plane for the contra. I just finished ours and we flew it last week. For you guys on the west coast it will be at the districts. Heres a pic

Chip,

When are the 2M Mythos expected to arrive or be available in the USA. I haven't seen them advertised anywhere in the states yet? F3A has the 125 for sale, no two meter.

Since you have one, will the plane still do well on a Non-Contra set up/ conventional EP setup? Since I returned from the sand box last year; I have been in a holding pattern for a newer design. I don't know much about the Contra-drive systems, but I am reading what I can.

Thanks'

Hi,

Can You tell us little about the contra setup in Your MythoS?
Did You need to do any modification on the nose to get the Contra spinner to fit properly to the nosering? As I understand the Contra spinner diameter is 82 millimeter and according to above post # 91 the supplied spinner in the MythoS kit is 82 mm so it should be a raher nice fit with a Contra spinner.
What Contra gear set do You use? And what props (carbon or APC)?
NEU-F3A-1 motor I assume.

If You could briefly compare MythoS flight characteristics to any of Your own best designs You have with Contra how would You say it fly? Positvie and negative things.

/Bo

I replied with a very detailed answer and flight report but it was lost the second I hit ok. The mythos is an awesome plane and has a lot of neat design features incorporated into it. All of them seem to have a place and it is a great flying plane. Of course the contra still blows me away as to how much it improves a persons flying overnight. single prop set up will work as well. Great design and very easy to fly.

Sorry so brief but I am beat. Once a night is enough.

Where can u learn more about the pros and cons of the contra prop in practical terms? More blades should mean smaller blades needed to keep the motor load down, etc so seems to get the actual performance you want you need to size everything up first power wise to use them?

Specifically, if you want to run an 8s setup on the mythos, what motor and contra prop setup would you pick? Where would u buy from?

Hey Macy,

There is another thread dedicated to the Contra Drive located here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_9833118/tm.htm

The loading on the props is reduced by running them with higher pitch at slower speed. For example, the Contra props are typically 22x20 in size, and spin at 4000 rpm.

If you want to run an 8s pack, then you will need to run a motor with an appropriate winding. The Hacker C50-11XL will work for instance.

Anyone that wants to get a Contra Drive can get one by contacting me through RCuniverse.

Macy,

Keep in mind this thread is for the 2m Mytho, not the 125e that you and I have discussed. Mounting a net or hacker that requires from mounting would be virtually impossible with the cowl type setup the 125 comes with. You would have to completely restructure the front end. Also, Brenner's setups are designed for 10S primarily as they are for the full 2m type airplanes. And I will add, they are very impressive.

Archie
