Hello all
I recently bought a nice molded glider and needed something more than my JR 9x to operate the Crow and flaps.
A quick look around my local shop saw a Aurora 9 claiming fully up to speed for a modern glider.
So I part with my money and bring it home.
It's not much better than my old 9x.
I cant change the crow to be anything than on at the throttle stick forward position. I want it to come on stick back.
I can't get the flaps to move as much as I want.

It's at version o6.

I phoned the importer as I've researched that it should be at version 08 and should I be getting a product so far out of date
He says its now up to me to sort out getting it updated and suggests I take it up with the shop that supplied it.

Had I not taken the time to do a search of the Internet I would be none the wiser.

I can't help thinking something is wrong about the whole process.

Will the radio get better with all the updates?

I'm still a bit miffed about now having to get hold of the equipment to update a brand-new radio to do what it says on the box.

By the way I should point out this is a UK product and does not relect in anyway the service of Hitec in the USA.

You really should get the HP-22 programmer and update your RX, TX and module to the latest versions. There are many convenience fixes and also some that are there to improve link operation and system recovery.  I am sure there will be more in the future.

Also with the HP-22 you can download your model settings to your computer as a back up.

I know nothing about setting the A9 for gliders but seems odd that there is no setting for the throttle directon input to the camber mix.

It is a great system. I have two and 10 Rxs and have been flyiing them since the spring of 2010 without any problems.

I have a searchable pdf version of the manual if you want it and send me your e-mail address. Makes it much easier to find stuff using your computer instead of paging through 100+ pages.

Good luck.

too bad you have to buy another gizmo to do that. An SD card slot in the TX will let you do the same thing.

That being said, I have one of the Hitec interface adapters, bought so I could update my brand new Hitec JR compatible module to use with the Minima RX's.

I have version 1.08 in my A9. I did try an example model set up with glider....2 ailerons.....2 flaps and can get the flaps and ailerons to command full up with throttle up and down with throttle down proportionaly. You can use the monitor function to see channel commands when move the throttle. In the camber mix menu I set the ail and flap percentage to 50% with the throttle at idle and 0% with the throttle at 100%. If you look at monitor then you will see the channels move  with the throttle. If they don't go in the direction you want, try -50% etc.

I have  no idea if this is correct but it seems to be a settable function mix. I would be suprised if version 1.06 is totally different.  Give it a try.

Have fun.

Hello and thank you to all the people that have responded.

Is this an official site santioned by Hitec ?
Can someone at Hitec tell me what going on here?

The link you send me to, and templates for a glider gives me details of a Tanga competition glider. Which is probably what i need to copy for the mixing.

The opening statment tells me the flaps and B/fly programming "still sucks".

Even if I do the updates, is it still going to suck and needs work arounds?

Somebody at Hitec please talk to me and not send me links which do nothing to inspire confidence.

Yours in anticipation
Rodders

To Hitec,
Please PM me to discuss further, or put me in touch with Hitec.

The radio seems fine for power and helis, but then again I've got a perfectly good JR one for that.

I bought this specifically for a glider.

Regards,
Rodders

I did not send you any links that I know of. I am not Hitec. I am just an Aurora 9 owner and I don't fly gliders but I did try the camber set up thing for gliders with my A9 and it seem that I can get flaps and ailerons to go down with throttle down and up with throttle up.

What set up did you use.

No you didn't and that's why I thanked everyone for their help.

The link to the template was supplied by AT. Again I appreciate the help but is this really how you would like to introduce any product!

Imagine my surprise in the opening line of the template that the "radio sucks",

Thats why I need to get some idea of what's going on here. Surely no manufacturers advice would start with this sort of statement.

As it is, I've taken it back to the shop. I asked if they could supply me with the HP22 thingy, which they couldn't.
They offered to take it back to the supplier, which I accepted.

I will wait to see what happens.

The A9 is so flexible, there can be many different ways to achieve the same result.
Aurora 9 - Programming Problem? - Parameters must be set in correct order e.g. V_tail, see chart.,
which is also why when after any firmware upgrade has been done, there are clear warnings
to check all switches, P.Mixes etc as should be done with daily range check of each model.
