ORIGINAL: thehuntingterminator :

Oh ok. I was just asking because I found a guy on here who was going to sell me a Summit with like 20 runs max on it for $200, but then some guy offered $500. Haha.

Hope you're not laughing about 500 $ ? hehe, that's what I paid for it. That's just how the price range is here in Norway. A new one is like 830++ $ and this was bought in jan 2012. So I'm pritty happy for the price. A used one is normaly like 580+ . That's Norway...

Hi all,
I'm Jerry from Finland and I've been reading this tread for quite some time. This week I got my own summit Finally found a used one for OK price.

Only thing is that it has the dual 700-HO motors installed. Anyone have used this combo? Is there anything I need to think about and be careful?

As all of you seem to like pictures, here it is after I cleaned it as good as possible with the few tools I had.

Last owner had left it in really bad shape. I think I have a lot of fixing before I'm satisfied.

Today I should receive in a few hours new cable to my charger so that I can re-charge the two lipos I got in the deal and try the truck. Can't wait!

Hi Jerry, Looks like a fine one you got there. New to the summit myself so I have never seen that twin turbo setup before :-) Looking forward to a videoclip of it soon :-)

Now both batteries charged but it just won't stop raining. Been raining nonstop for the whole week. Tomorrow I have to make myself waterproof as the truck should already be waterproof and take it out for a run. Hopefully the twin system won't cause it to tip over more easily.

I'm looking into WP some of my lipo's. I run the stock pack's if it's heavy rain, But it's pritty 'wet' outside now, in the gras and so eveen if it's not raining, so the lipos also tends to get , not wet, but moist.

new video from today soon ready, stay tuned.

That's some nice driving Sollie! Cool places also. Finally it did not rain so much here so I got to try my dual motor setup quickly in a nearby building site. This is one cool truck, and it was way faster then I would have guessed.

I hope my tires will last for some time. They look to be in quite bad shape. But for crawling in low gear I think they will make it for some time. Seems that new tires cost quite a lot and there are even more options to choose from. Any suggestions for good all tires that work for everything that the summit can do?

I ran that setup for a while but because the rims don't have any offset the tires tend to rub on the body, especially when crawling around on rocks and stuff. The Axial beadlock rims will fit but the beadlock ring rubs on the top front arms a little bit. From what I hear Trencher X tires on Desperado rims fit without any dramas and work pretty good as well.

Get mudslingers!!! They grip 10x better than the stock tires on every surface ive put them on, and imo they look the best out of every tire ive seen on the summit.

I have to check out those tires. Will try some crawling tomorrow. This truck is sooo much fun! Hope there is some rocky beach to drive on after all this rain. Water level must be +1m by now.

Well they're not gonna short out, so technically you don't have to, but keep in mind that the water will corrode the batteries' metal surfaces (mostly a problem with nickel cells since they have many contact points). But it's a good idea if you're gonna be running in water consistently.
