If 2s lipo are 7.4v two if them are 14.8 right? Now if you have two nihm that are 8.4 that's 16.8 right? If they are both say 6500mah with say a 25c rating the run time will probably be better from the lipo having a less V rating. Now what I'm really wondering is since the two nihm are combine a higher V wouldn't that mean more power/speed? Or is the lipo that much better then nihm?

With the stock batteries you will get a little more acceleration for the first couple of minutes but that's about it.

They sure are but have you seen the price of the new Summit that comes with LiPos? $789 at Tower while the NiMH model is $605, I could buy six 5000mAh LiPo packs from SPC for the difference in the price between the two. Apparently in the not too distant future the LiPo model will be the only one available.

Ya I bought the cheaper version, was the same cept no lipos.  Didnt need lipos for I get them waaay cheaper.  They dont sell the NIMH package anymore.  Though there is still some for sale.  Just no way worth the price jump just for 2 medium lipos.  On another note.  Kinda funny video of a RC car skimming the water...

I saw that video a while ago it was a slash 4x4 he said he did it with paddles on and the pond is 365' lol pretty impressive if you ask me.

Has anyone used 5400mah lipos and know a round about what kind of run time they get. The rc store here has those and 8400 but the big ones won't fix the summit. I'd buy online but I'd like to keep my money local and support a small business. After all how many places can you go to and buy just about any part or hop up for any large make of rc. Those 5400 are duratrax and their $55

Depends if you're slow crawling or going flat out but I reckon you would be looking at around 40-50 minutes of moderate driving, maybe closer to 30 minutes if you have your lead finger on the trigger.

So with that said I could be looking at over an hour of stright rock crawling? Or is that considered the moderate driving. My lead finger will prolly stay on the slash seeing it acually goes over 60 lol. I just want the summit for the fact its water proof and will be able to crawl up and over most anything I throw it at

I worked on it for 3 hours tonight replacing all the screws with SS screws and Ill say u should all spend $20 on these screws!!! They look great!!! I had to replace my rear diff and a pos 2065 servo. Just have to hook up all the electronics and the motor and im done!!! Cant wait to take it out...its been over a month

Right on beast that's awesome. So I was looking at my servo for the slash its 2075. I don't know what the size difference or what the torque is compared to the summits 2065. The servo iny slash is waterproof and has been going for three years strong its a long shot but maybe it could work.

Stainless steel I'm guessing?

The Summit has two 2075 servos for steering and three little 2065 servos for the diff locks and for changing between high and low gear.
