That servo is now in my wish list at tower

LOL... I have 2 of them sitting in my shopping cart, oh so tempting.

If you do get them don't forget to get these, the stock horns don't fit hitec.

Hey Beast what servos you looking at? The ones I linked are $55 a piece.

I run the Trencher X's on my Summit.  Pretty much the same size as the stock Canyons.  Awesome wheel/tire combo for the Summit, IMO.  They are shorter and wider than the original Trencher.

As for the HiTec waterproof servo, it looks like its okay, but it's not that much bigger than the stock Traxxas waterproof servo.  You'll still have to run a pair of them to have enough power for the wheels.  They only have ~157 oz. of torque @6v.  Even if you went the external BEC route and got 7.4v going, you're only boosting it to 179 oz.  Nothing wrong with running a pair of them, but if you're looking to run a single servo setup, this one isn't a candidate, imo.

I have the HiTec 7955TG or 5995TG on my wish list.  The Savox 1256 is not quite as beefy as those two, but still has more torque than the stock dual setup.

You can get them from Tower Hobbies, or you can order them direct from ProLine.  When I ordered them back in November ProLine had a coupon code good for 15% off, so I picked them up for around $75 shipped.

Just keep in mind that with more weight comes more problems when you slap on some big ole wheels and tires like that. If I am running a basher, I usually like a lighter weight solution. I put this pic in my thread, but I am running wheels/tires from a Savage Flux. They are a little shorter and more narrow than the stockers. They are also lighter.

Another Summit owner here, one is stock and another one I am gradually building and customizing, these really are amazing machines. So far on the mod I have HPP 17mm hexes, aluminum diff carrier to help shore up the diff for brushless, double orange springs, 80k shock oil, and a few aluminum parts to help get weight over the wheels for crawling. Still on the fence on wheather to go brushed or brushless and am looking to add a custom body, pro line trenchers and dye the chassis black to finish it off. Lots of fun!

The horns look the same but they have a different spline count. Trust me I made the mistake years ago and stripped out the stock horns.

I think you might have been looking at the quantity discount price for buying 3 of them. The hitec waterproof servo is definitely $55.

Can't find anything in the way of a single servo for $50 but you can get 2 of these for a little over $60. They aren't digital but they are a great servo for the price. Two of the stock servos have 250oz-in of torque combined so if you can find anything that matches or is better then that you're golden. I normally stick with Hitec when I'm buying servos but maybe someone else knows of another brand that might fit the bill.

214 oz-in of torque so it still comes up a bit short of 2 of the stock servos 250 oz-in. Any reason you have your heart set on one servo?
