We should thank our lucky stars that they are never as far out as Multiplex are, or we would be waiting a year lol

The release date on Al's Hobbies was put up by Al's Hobbies, not Horizon.

If you will check it does not even live on the HH.com site as of today.

Yes, great John. That's very very helpful. Not.

Maybe time to talk to your mates in HH UK and get both web sites telling the same story.

UGH, What were they thinking.

I can assure all of you it will be much longer than what is above this post. More info coming very soon, this week I would guess.

Playing with the BETA version now and I am loving it. Tough to get any other work done when you have this new deal in your hands.

John,

Can you answer a question for me? Apologies if it's already been asked and answered.

Will the DX18 work with all 12 channels on a JR/Spektrum 12 channel DSMX receiver?
...or will it only work 10 channels on those receivers and you need an X-plus receiver to get more than 10?

(I'm guessing the second statement is the correct one, but I can't find it spelled out anywhere.)

Thanks.

I'm hoping it's going to drive DSM2 12channel Spektrum and JR recievers to say nothing of SRS Powerboxes, after all the Tx must output 17/18 channels all the time surely?

It's supposed to be backwards compatible so it should,

Gary.

When using the DX18 with a 12 channel receiver, the first 10 channels have the 2048 resolution and channels 11 and 12 are at the lower resolution. But you will get 12 channels when using a 12 channel receiver.

If you want more than 12 channels you need to use the X-plus receiver setup.

OK, thanks!
By "lower resolution" I assume you mean 1024 bits? That sounds like a non-issue since the low-resolution channels can be used for things like retracts, brakes or flaps.

With the X-plus Receiver setup all channels are 2048 bits?

Channels 1- 10 are 2048.

Channels 11 - 18 are at a 512 update rate.

Very similar to the old channel 9 and 10 on the JR 10 series (PCM10 - 10X) radios.

As stated, if you use the back channels for retracts, bombs, lights, gear door sequencing, canopy, drag chute, speed brakes, wheel brakes, etc you are fine.

Thanks, John. That was very specific and helpful info. !
Best wishes and I hope to see you at SEFF. I'll be hanging around with Rojo as usual, trying to keep him out of trouble.

Look @ it this way. If you're planning to maiden the DX18 with the new E-Flite F-4, they'll get to you at the same time
