My 2012 travel agenda isn't complete, yet, but I thought that I'd post this video that my brother sent me:

Great,     its superb to see the aircraft of our nations,    but its sad to see our veterans walking with sticks, looking frail, but still with the gleam in their eye,     my mother in law ended her days in a nursing home,   i got to talk to an old guy in there,  he was ex tank regiment,  i could have listened to his wartime chat for ever, sadly, he died recently,     the stories he told,     amazing folk that are dissapearing,   how i wish we could restore these heroes, along with their equipment,    bless them all,

Yo Sam,
Great Video. Speaking of making plans... Should I reserve and mark out your usual spot? I see that you are preregistered. Can't wait for summer!

Thanks for sharing Sam.

Not sure about my trip list either. I have a wedding to in October to pay for, and we want to help one of my sons with some medical expenses. I may need to concentrate more on local events than I have the last couple years.

Glad you guys like the video.
====
Yo Roy,
Yep, mark my 'spot' again.
I'm assuming Northern alliance will be the previous week as I plan to attend both events.

===============
Was doing some 'web surfing' and came across this 72" panther.
I already have my Ziroli but this plane looks pretty nice. Price comes with gear.
Made for EDF so I'm not sure if it can handle a turbine (I've got a P70 in my ziroli).
(I didn't know that 'hobby people' such nice planes!)

Duxford, 2011:

more video:

one more:
take offs and landings in this one.

For me, the video, repeatedly, stops after several seconds, and then restarts, due to not uploading fast enough, so I click 'pause' and, then, hit restart after several minutes to allow the full video to upload

The full scale P-47 Zombie, the one we modeled our Meister version after, was stationed at Duxford. This is cool.

Looks like Zenoah now has electronic ignition for all engines.
Looks like only about 10 bucks extra for EI except for the GT-80: big jump in price of $70 (using Horizion's web page for prices).
I'm assuming they will keep both types.

And set up to use LiPos without a regulator. Not bad.

Good point on no regulator.
Also, looks like a significant amount of weight removed (though, not usually a factor in warbirds).
Interesting that they are out of stock on EI but it appears that Chief has them!

One person noticed that!
Depending on weather, I'll probably go the Lexington (like I said, there are date errors).
Mac Hodges has his warbird flyin on that same week end and I might go to that one instead.

Yesterday, I, along with fellow old farts, went up to Wright Pat air force museum.
They are adding a fourth wing to the museum, making one of the finest airplane museums in the world, even better. The vertical cylinder in the poster contains space craft.

Tristate warbird museum
Batavia, Ohio (25 miles)

A group of us went to the tri-state warbird museum just east of Cincinnati, Ohio along the out beltway.
Everything they have either flies or is being built to fly.
Two large hangers with a shop between them.
Flying:
Stearman
AT-6
P-51
TBM avenger
B-25

under construction:
F4U: 5-6 years yet
P-40: flew last year but oil cooler broke and fast landing cause wing warp and re-build engine (6 months, hoping, back in the air)
FW-190
