Got a good deal on a gently used vxl 4x4 today. Very excited to see the quality difference over my redcat caldera 10e. Just looking at it the parts seem sturdier and the truck feels solid.

first question. Do all the proline 1/10 bodies fit the stampede with the stock body mounts and if I purchased the kit to lower the body mounts will the bodies still fit?

also, what is a decently priced black rim and nicer tire combo?

over time I wanna build it up to be bullit proof. What is s first good mod?

Everything on that page will fit. I don't think you can make any rc car bullet proof, I mean I haven't shot at one before but I'm sure any firearm would make a mess of it.

I dont think you can ever go wrong with ProLines.  They have great tread life, and all terrain traction is fantastic.  The desperadoes are great looking wheels, too.

Badlands:

Trenchers:

They should, but I'm not really sure.  I don't see why they wouldn't.  The suspension travel of the Pede doesn't bring it up close to the body from what I can remember.

the first thing you should buy for that truck is upgraded axles.

The only upgraded axles I can see are made by mip and they are around $120 for a full set. Kinda pricey. Hey steed2, have you got a link to any other axles?

no i dont, i didnt even know if upgraded axles were available, but with how weak they are i figured that someone would be making them by now. An friend (not close friend but someone i chat with time to time) bought one of these trucks and is constantly breaking axles, i ran with him once with the flux and needless to say he was very unhappy with his purchase. comparing the two is like apples and oranges, why anyone would purchase a stampede over a flux is beyond me.
