I was gonna get an SS but know that I see the Savage 25 I think I will probably get that. Other that a better pipe and possibly radio, is there ne reason to get the SS. The 25 comes with rotostart.
Does ne1 know if the 25 will com with high torque steering servos?

Thanx

the savage ss comes with a .25
and i think the rtr version of the savage has the old .21 bb engine
and i think that both come with pullstarts.
or you can get the newest savage that doesn't come with an engine or radio

from savage-central... Savage 21 VS 25

So It loosk like the Savage 25 is missing the pipe and possibly the dogbones, different springs too. But the SS is missing the new rims and fuel tank and 3 shoe clutch, well the first ones probably will be, who knows maybe they will update the kit yet again.

i dont know what ur talkin about the savage ss comes with a alumium ribbed tuned pipe, .25 engine, stiffer shocks, NO radio, and unassembled. im 99% sure it doesnt come with the roto start u can see it at hpi web site its hpi racing .com and savage rtr comes assembled with .21 engine, composite tuned pipe, and radio instaled. and im almost positive all that is true

k sorry im not postive the ss comes with the roto start but ive heard some bad things about it. when u use a .21 engine and a little electric motor when the motor gets over primed (flooded) it will bind, making the motor blow. the pull start isnt all that bad i would rather have the pull start than the roto start in my book.

Theres 2 different new kits the SS and the RTR 25, the RTR 25 does not come with the pipe but it does come with the rotostart.

The thing that makes it hard to decide is that the SS does not have the new fuel tank and will still ahev the 1/2 tank lean problem, and it comes with the lame rims that will stripp out fast, especially with the .25 in it. The SS is also missing the 3 shoe clutch, but I think people have had great luck putting the MIP 2-shoe.

So it seems to me

SS is great if you don't mid updating these 3 things yourself, and putting it together is a + and you get to pick your radio

for the RTR .25 all you would need to buy is the pipe and HD dogbones to get basicaly the same thing as the SS only you don't get to put it together and it has the rotostart. So I don;t think you could really go wrong either way.

What does this mean though? "Connecting Rod single bushing Dual Bushing "

HPI needs to make the no engine, no radio SS kit available here in the states. I'd like to know what their marketing thoughts are on this one. Do they actually think there's more demand for a rolling chassis kit overseas?

marketing thoguhts = get everyone for as much money as they can...The way I see it I have $800 into my Savage 21, and it will cost nearly $200 to upgrade it to an RTR 25....my other option is to sell my 2 month old savage for liek $350 and lose $500 and buy the RTR 25 for $80 more...

Both choices suck, I hate you HPI!
