thumbs down for the aeros result

hang on, whats that i smell, is it , is it *sniff sniff * , i think its sour grapes!!

now come on phil, you cant easily see what your aeros looked like from a SPECTATORS point of view, both steve tremaine and paul honey (judges) know what they are talking about. you got the flyer of the year trophy, is that not enough? why be so sore about being beaten by me?

marked down for holding knife edge for 2 seconds in the 4 pointer? at least i used the rudder i know mine wern't perfect, i'm just waiting for the results to see my scores, maybe they marked for what the plane can do.. ie anything me and you did was better than a funfly, but the funfly did well because it can't do it easy.. weird, but unfair.

anyways.....

Pylon race... ( Andy got lost lol )

3rd Barry, Supra
2nd Tim, Extreme
1st John, Street machine

Over all result.
it was a tie between me and Tim, ( not sure how if Tim got two trophys and i got one... )
The Capiche had got engine trouble just before the Pylon ( i used the Cougar ) so i had to use the Cougar again for the tie off. Don't ask what day i had.. West 50 went wrong, flight box leaked what little fuel i had into the draw, power pannel screwed up...
so i borrowed some of Johns fuel, Tim went up first, as a 'A' he had the engine on idle and got pretty close 30-20cm maybe. as a 'B' i have to go deadstick and managed to get it bang on the spot.

Had a couple of good crashes, Ian got caught in the sun during the pylon and plowed his funfly into the patch, the "most spectacular crash award" goes to this guy whos 1/16th ply spar!!! let go ( surprise lol ) it spun like those seed things back down just off the patch.

yep, that first one wasn't into wind and i was over correcting, after that i lost the referance and let it go downwind which i had wanted to avoid.

thought you were gonna splat it on your 3rd roll

i don't mind you and your rolls beating me, i'm just confused how a limbo and extreme can do it...
i really hope i wasn't marked down for holding the points in 4 point roll... will have to get a deffinition book and smack someone upside the head with it lol

i know what you mean about the extreme and the limbo dancer.

point rolls limbo dancer , point rolls limbo dancer, just doesnt go does it.
top rudder with a limbo in k/e sends it rolling the other way!

the important thing was, it was fun, as im sure dean and andy would agree.

i had the muther of all headaches on the sunday morning though! the result of too much beer and five hours sleep

the West ****ed up, wouldn't start, had to use the Cougar, told i had a good time, but also told by others i missed the bottom flag once.. strange, i turned when they said turn then headed right for my self.. would have been much hapoier using the Capiche for this tho.

also had to use the Cougar for the tie off spot landing, a few people didn't like that, but if the wst wont fire, what are you to do? if it ran, would have used it fair and square

Hi everyone!

What a quality day! Sorry I missed you Dean but no dramas, I'm sure we'll bump into each other at sopme point. I'll be entering the RCME freestyle next year (not with a Cougar and with lots more practise!)

Cheers Phil for leting us come down and take part! Even though the Cougar faired very well, especially in the Pylon racing, I think I would have been better with a Wot 4! Sorry I had to leave early, it took 4hrs 30 mins to get back! We sat on the M5 for nearly an hour... As for the performance on the day, well...! I don't know why I get so nervous! Guess I'm not used to flying in front of lots of people. Things to practise - orientation in Pylon races, spot landings in a strong wind and entry/exit speeds for the M4/M5 slip road! Really enjoyed the day just not the distance!

Anyway, cheers for the AOL details I'll be ordering the covering and bits in the next few days. Hope your West is ok....

Andy

Today was spent ripping my flightbox apart, and repainting it, i got a new pannel, sorted my pump for two way pump ( all that stopped it was a internal one way valve ) when i've got it all back together i'll be able to get fuel in the Capiche to try it out. I've also swaped Leo and Magnum carbs with each other so i can now use the Outlaw with it's sticky out main needle problem. Soldered up a broken servo and got 3 out of 4 servos into the Spitty.
all in all a productive day...

looking forwards to St Ozzle... if i know when it is LOL ok, you just answered that lol yes, Sophies happier with a Saturday too, everyones a winner

Dean.. i think i already have a copy of the Unlimited ( Pheonix ) plans, if we're both going to St Awful we can do a swap , oh, and you'll see the Outlaw.. might be a good choice for "Fast n slow" Almost Cougar slow... but twice as fast
