I don't recall, is this the stock wing design? or did the kit cutter udpdate the wing ? or use the wing from another kit?

I have one of these, well, two now actually as one was donated to my flying club and i am one of the few with a truck large enough to transport it!

Anyway, mine was given to me by a friend when he moved and had no way to take it with him. taildragger with a Quadra 35. I am making wing struts for it only because it looked weird without them!

Interesting notes on the changes to to the tail...

Any suggested throws for the airlerons/elev for the first few flights? I managed to find a copy of the instructions, but they didnt have any on them. Anything on the plans?

Thanks,
Bill S

I have not flown the bnt , but when I build a model it is built for max servo travel the flight controls to full deflection -about 1/2 to 3/4 inch then I will use the dual rate switch on the radio to slow that down after the model is trimmed -for strait and level flight - the adjustments can be made to suit the operaters likeing .....now I have built a lot of models and it's works for me but I am not saying that my approach is correct

Love the shot with the side still off. Reminds me of a cut-a-way display!

I was thinking of doing the same thing, not quite full throws on max, and around 50% with the duel rates.

Should let me get her up and down in one peice.

I also have the large Nosen Citaria (106" i think). Its built, but uncovered at this time. Really looking forward to finishing that one. Going to use a Q-35 in it as well.

I wish he used the three peice wing design on that in the trainer as well!!

Another question, what are you useing for servos? The one given to me was built with 1/4 scale mounts installed (old school!) so I got some off eBay for that plane. On the donated model, the builder used standard servos which i feel arent really up to the task. I had planned on upgradeing to a more modern HD servo, but in a standard case size so i dont need to make new mounts.

This is what I plan on using: http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/items/HD-1501MG.html

Also, the elevator was built with control for only one servo, and I was thinking of splitting it and using two servos instead....

Thanks,
Bill S.

I am using kraft 15 servos and a gold stickered 6 channel kraft am transmitter- as to the era of the airplane kit... and a 2300 mah battery for the airborne pack -I love airplane structures & can look at them all day long -thanks for the servo link , that is a great buy-

            Looking good,

I recieved my plans for the bnt today and have spent some time going over it while enjoying a coffee,  i like the size of it so should be very easy to see in the air, My plans are the ones drawn  by Mark Robey who just happened to be the sender of the plans from the U.S.A, they are very well done however, i do have several questions firstly, there is no mention of what dihedral to set the wings ? , secondly the main undercarriage is only given as a side on profile with no width dimensions does any body know how wide to set the main gear .  I was going to power mine with a rcgf 15cc  but after seeing the plans have upgraded to a rcgf 26cc i have both engines already so will go with the bigger engine which will be more than enough should be nice on partial throttle,  As far as electronice go i will be using futaba 2.4 gig gear and and opto electronic kill switch on the engine,  I will be making the wings a 2 piece bolt on affair to make transport easier .

[size=3]ok , where to start..... main gear fuselage is 8 inches wide at gear - I made my main gear 18 inches wide / wheel base is wider based on tire selection...the dihedral is set at first rib and the wing joint /doubler may not be on plan but I have a template.. when I get to the shop I will get the measurements and tell you them later scratch building from plans is a fill in the blanks kinda picture math puzzle .... the problems involved in this process will have you talking to yourself sometimes .... dry fit your parts and take an objective look at your work and even then you may get stuck on some stuff / get away from it for awhile then take another look there is always another way to do things or many my first thoughts in problem solving is usually the right one ask yourself if I do it this way ???-what else is going to be affected ??? -weight and balance /remember mirror your structure / or try to - example ... if you put all your switches on one side then you need to counter that weight by putting the receiver or electronic ignition on the other side- bigger engine then add more wood to aft aircraft I never have used any weights no- no- no... a waste -build more structure to balance / I mean add a stick or 2 to your structure or sheet, something that would not normally get sheeted ....ok then are you having fun yet ??? I built my engine on the 4th of july in the picture below see the proplem solving / fuel tank location / ignition location /throttle servo location /battery boxes are last to get placed cause they are heaviest final balance alright i'm done preaching -later
