Status: offline 		hmmm...  well the only 4 wheel drive hobby grade RC iv owned was a nitro TC.   and my other 2 on road cars are 2wd.  one's a tamiya M03 chassis which is front wheel drive.  the others a pan car.   all 4 of my off road cars have been 2wd stadium trucks.

iv always kind of preferred 2 wheel drive for off road.  it just fits my driving style better.  i tend to throw the rear end around and steer with the throttle.  iv bashed friends 4wd cars and (excluding monster trucks and 1:8 scale) i saw no real benefit to having those 2 extra drive wheels.

on road, who cares.  hauling ass up and down the street is hauling ass up and down the street.  iv never found one to be better than another.  with a halfway proper tune they are all pretty much equal when it comes to bashing.

Status: offline 		I adore 2wd stadium trucks to bash with, they are more unpredictable and more fun. but nothing accelerates like a brushless 4wd,

only 2wd's I've owned in hobby grade have been a pede(didn't like it much after 1 run so I made it air powered ), and a hornet (never actually used it)

2wd for on-road.

tires and conditions mean everything for on-roads, my 2wd formula car will handle speeds past 70mph without twitching and i can shoot out of a corner with soft tires, with the crap it came with i couldnt go past 15mph without "drifting" and even with good tires blacktop is like black ice.

stadium trucks are fun and simple, but any terrain worse than packed dirt or clay calls for 4wd to really whip around.

4wd touring is ok, but to me is boring, pushy and effortless.

Status: offline 		I'd like to have an RC that lets you choose, personally. I like 2WD when I want to do donuts, as it's less likely to flip the car, but 4WD comes in handy when it snows or when it goes off and hikes a rear wheel.

Status: offline 		Stadium trucks have their place. I started out with a firestorm several years ago and have had several RC10GT's since and they have all been fun. But for me 4wd is the way to go. I like to be able to do a full throttle launch and still be able to control the car when it takes off (although most of my stuff is over powered and full throttle launches still aren't an option even with 4wd). You have much better acceleration with 4wd, and you can still drift with 4wd. My Kyosho Inferno GT is the easiest car to drift I have had!
