Sorry for the loss. In the RC world you usually get what you pay for and a cheaper up front price doesn't always mean less expensive. Putting a knock off receiver at the other end of a top notch transmitter makes no sense.

You have to set your Tx to MULTI.... Remove all FAIL SAFE... if you are using regular servos be sure the Rx is set to slow servos. It shows in the speed the red LED blinks.
If you need to change that power up the RX while pressing the bind button without the Tx being on. The red LED should blink at a lower speed.
I had a problem with one of those Rx but it was my fault, forgot to do the range check.
Happy flying!

First, read Beto9's post again. Those settings are very important.

Just so you know that you're not alone, I'm another who flys the 8 channel Orange FASST receivers with a 12FG. I bought the first four in the fall of 2010, and have bought four more since then. I'm now flying eight of them, and in the air I can't tell the difference between the Orange FASST and the genuine Futaba FASST receivers. (I also have eleven genuine Futaba FASST receivers)

I recently had a lockout/crash with one of the original Orange FASST receivers that came covered in heat shrink instead of a plastic case. The lockout appears to have been caused by both antenna connectors coming loose since the heat shrink doesn't firmly hold the plug-in connectors in place. After reseating the antenna connectors, this receiver has been flying in a test plane for about 2 months with zero problems. In the meantime, I ordered some plastic cases to replace the heat shrink on all four of the original 8 channel Orange FASST receivers. The last four receivers came with the plastic case already installed, so the loose antenna connector problem is no longer an issue. There are literally dozens of the 8 channel Orange FASST receivers being actively flown in my local club, and my recent lockout has been the only time that any of us have had a problem.

I don't know what you mean by slow servo's and my TX does not have a bind button.

No, I said the Rx bind button. Normally, regular servos are "slow" and digital are fast servos. If you servos move without input from the Tx you are in "fast servos" mode. Follow my instructions.
Good luck.

The Rx also known as the receiver can be used in two different modes, a high speed mode that requires all servos to be digital and a slow speed mode that is used with non-digital servo's.
With the Tx OFF also known as the Radio, hold the button down on the Rx( receiver) and plug in the battery, keep holding the button down for 6 seconds and the red led with begin to flash. A fast flash is high speed mode for digital servo's and a slow speed flash is for normal servo's. Try it a few times to get the feel for the fast and slow flash speeds and unplug the Rx (receiver) when the slow flash is shown.
Do not set fail-safe's on the Rx(receiver).

Some 12FG's have issues with pots in the radio. Make sure your crash was not caused by this known issue, remember what somebody once stated, you get what you pay for!!!!!
