I'll get a build thread up shortly.

Here is a 21st Centry Panther I repainted and sold. Last Photo is what it looked like before the texture and repaint.

Meant to add these as well. Airbrushler you are correct. Even though it is not R/C and 1/18 it still looks cool.

Well, not a tank but military themed and definately RC, last week I bought this toy JEEP from the store. It was only 25 bucks and thought I would see if I truly want an RC truck.

Plus I needed something to chase the dogs (my boyz) with that didn't cost much.

It first looked like this:

And right away I can see why the boyz hated it. It wasn't OD or even a cool multi-colored camo. So, since it didn't go over too well with them and seeing it sit around in civilian colors I decided to change that.

Maybe the boyz will like it better?

So, just a quick strip down and using old Testors paint and an old water slide decal the transformation was complete. It's not much and is still a toy but looks much better sitting around the hobby room.

And the boyz still hate it.

looks good Panther F

looking at the pics i see it looking way better like you said with narrow tires add some jerry cans
and i think chopping the huge bumper off then it would look pretty close to the real deal just a little higher thats all,
cool jeep

here is a pic i chopped the bumper off in photoshop

Thanks for your suggestion but I already thought of that. Problem is that if the JEEP runs into something with the tires the steering linkage will be damaged. I forget the advertised scale, but it's 11" long and 5 1/2" wide much too big to really be acceptable next to our tanks. Now they do make a 1/16 scale JEEP in RC, but the smaller these things get the worse the undercarriage starts to look and I really only wanted it to play with the boyz with so anything smaller than this will not run very well outside.

Still might get a 1/16 just to see what really can be done but these are modern day JEEPs and don't look right for WWII. Gotta look for a HUMMER.

I went to Toys R Us yesterday after finishing the JEEP looking for a car just for the RC gear to possibly work with my Kubels. A Team Losi is just too expensive right now (seeing how it wont get that much use) so a toy grade RC will have to do. Already have one I think will work for the Schwimmwagen ... too bad they were not 4WD in real life. I do want to make it amphibious too so there lies the challenge.

It was a fun project to take a break from building tanks.

Very clean and nicely applied paint on that Sherman.

Some Nice panthers, cool idea with the jeep, Red Cross half track is nice, Kenworth wrecker will be a monster when it is finished, and Joe I am sorry to hear that your Sherman bait broke down.

I think I will attempt to RC one of the 21st Century toys ... the Dodge Staff Car. Still the wrong scale but large enough it dwarfs the 1/16 Kubel and it's already built and a little more hardier plastic to work with.

This way my expensive Schwimmwagen won't get hacked up. Too bad I can't find an affordable 1/16 JEEP. I think the Danbury piece is too heavy.
