Status: offline 		Hi, I'm obviously a new guy here and have a question I hope is easy to answer. I went outside with the intention of flying my Supercub DSM yesterday, but when I plugged in the battery and turned on the transmitter, the elevator immediately went to the full down position.  The elevator stick does not move it, and neither will the trim tab. 

Thinking maybe the servo had bit the dust I switched the plugs for the rudder and elevator on the reciever.  The elevator worked, but the rudder went full right. So to me, either the plug on the receiver is screwed, or something in the transmitter is telling it to bottom out in one direction.

Any help you guys can give is appreciated.

If you reverse the servo on the Tx does it go all the way up?

Status: offline 		I am a futaba guy but i looked on their website and it says you can change modes with a switch. Try it again and see if the throttle stick moves the elevator or will any other stick move the elevator.

Status: offline 		Unplug the battery and turn the tx off in that order. Now turn the tx on then plug the battery in in that order and see if that works. ENJOY !!! RED

I used the servo reversing switch on the Tx and the elevator went all the way up.

I also tried what Redhead suggested and that didn't work either.

+1 on that.

Check out page 13 and 14 of the manual. If you got the transmitter in French mode (mode 1/3) it would behave just as your describing. Page 14 explains how to get it back into standard mode (mode 2/4).

Status: offline 		If you reversed it on the Tx and it went the opposite direction then it is something with the Tx and should not be servo or Rx related. Did you move the other sticks and see if the elevator moved? Check out Spektrums website about the DX4e. They have some bulletins about problems with this system. Is your "mode" switch on "mode II"?

Status: offline 		I did some more looking around and found that Tx's with these PIDs are affected

DX6i/DX5e/DX4e:
PID's beginning with the following prefixes: HS, HH, HT, HE, HA

Mine starts with HO, so I'm not sure what exactly that's supposed to tell me.

Just read the manual. Do some testing and figure out what is going wrong then if all else fails Just call them.

When plugged up the way you have it and the rudder or elevator is full to one side have you tried moving your throttle to see what happens?? Plug it up and then move every stick in every direction and write down what moves compared to what stick you moved. This should be the first step in determing what is going wrong. Have you forced your transmitter into std mode and then changed the switch to mode 2?? That transmitter has 4 modes and if your not in the right mode things wont work as expected.
