Pattis' the best, She did Doug Campbell for my 1/3 N 28. Just nothing like having the correct pilot for your A/C to finish it off.

Not me.

If I build one to one, I'm gonna be sitting in it.

Tim just bought a full scale spacewalker...

It's really great to see that some of the other guys are making progress on their Driedecker builds also. I love seeing the pic's that Cal and Kirk have added to this build. Keep up the good work guys it looks GREAT!
I took a little time off but now I'm back at it.
Here I have modified Glenn's outlines on the outer rib of the subwing. As you can see I have copied Achim Ingels work. Also I have cut and fitted the cockpit floor. Next up are the controls for the rudder, elevator and ailerons.

Here are some more pic's of the start of the cockpit work. Nothing worse than not finding the right size brass tubes in all the crap when yo need it. Also have you guys seen the price of this stuff now!!!
As you can see I'm making two of everything. One set is for a good friend in Fla who also is building a 1/2 scale along with me.

Tom,

As always a work of art.
Where did you get the dimensions for the size of brass and the size of the part your making?
Would you be willing to share, still need to make the cockpit interior, almost finish with the engine cyclnders and guns.

Hello, my name is Juanjo Valencia-Spain. Took 3 years to build four Dr1 scale 1/21 slow project due to time, but they're almost finished structures. I Gleen supply aluminum struts and now need the nacelles. Could you tell me which is the measure of the engine fairing and if possible get 4? It is a pleasure to see that there are more fans DR1 half the World. Leave a picture of our project greeting

Hi Juanjo
Wow it's fantastic to see that there are others building 1/2 scale triplanes out there! It looks great! What was your fuselage material used? Dowels? What will you be powering your model with? and your weight so far? Ya I have all kinds of questions. Did you use GTM plans?
As far as the cowls go, I do know that Glenn got his from a place in Canada. Glenn does not have any left. So you'll have to ask him about that. Do you plan to cover yours with linen or a modern day aircraft material? Keep in touch, send some more detail pictures!!!

Hello TKFOKKER, and built the fuselage with round there is light and strong, reinforced with fiberglass rods 3mm, we are thinking of putting the engine and coating moki 7-250 is Solartex.
The plans are designed by me, taken from a triptych actual model and modified according to my experience.

Hello Gents! I just wanted to let you know the Okie Dr.1 squadron is alive and well. TK we really appreciate you taking the lead and sharing your work and experience.  You are the man!! Actually, I think you are a reincarnated Dr.1 bulider from WWI.
CC is the other Okie in the 1/2 scale project and using my shop to frame up his fuse.  We both are making great progress.  There is great interest throughout Oklahoma about this great project.  Many are already making plans to be at Dawn Patrol 2014 in Dayton to see our work.
I have attached a few pics  of progress to date.

As promised, more pics of the fuse work.  CC and BH posing with the fuses.  BH has started the cockpit process. TK is way down the road.  Additionally, we are installing the skid post to each of the fuses.  I am really enjoying the build and will keep you guys updated on our progress.

TK controls look great.  Can you forward some overall dimensions of the control system when you have time? Also what size of tubing you are using.
Here are some more pics of the stab construction. Also completed the rudder post and the installed the 5/8" dowel for skid and stab mounting.  Fuse is really strong using the carbon fiber rod pins.

Hey Bill
The stab looks super. Now you have me feeling like building one! I will be using carbon fiber tube 3/8 for the leading edge on mine. A couple more shots of cockpit. Also a few of the control hand grip from my 1/2 scale D-8. Now I need to build another two. Now if I could only remember how I did it the first time???
