the front end of my wild dagger (tamiya truck) has been messed up for a while now, the front knuckles keep breaking and I can't find replacements or aluminum ones anywhere so I've decided to make my truck into a sort of a snowmobile..... any suggestions?

I am going to do this by attaching the front wheels to the back (to make it like dualies for more traction on snow) and then I'm going to make skis out of tin or some other thin metal and attach them to the knuckles and super glue the knuckles (to fix them) then I have to water proof the truck.

I am only gunna do this because hopefully soon I am getting a nitro car/truck

Not a bad idea as log as you have a lot of snow (Since you are in canada I dont think you have a problem!)

Two things that come to my mind.

The rear wheels, even if you attach the front on them dont sound that will give you nice traction in the snow. Since it is electric it will make things worse as you have a LOT of torque instantly when you hitt the trottle making things worse.

The other thing is water proofing. No matter how good you do it you will get problems. The first one is that yuo will probably get snow in at least for the first couple of time and something will dies (esc, receiver etc) If you manage to make it waterproof you will have problem getting rid of the heat. Then you motor will start giving problems.

If you would like to keep it as it is I would sugget to try and find a front suspension system )complete) from another truck (not nessesarily tamiya) that would fit or can be made to fit.

For front skis, look at the ones dubro sells for winter landing gear.

I have a Wild Dagger myself and it's great fun. Haven't broken a front knuckle yet but some day it will. I also "abuse" it :-)

The knuckles are standard Tamiya parts called "50736 TL01 B Parts ". You will find these in every TL01, TL01B, FF02, M03, and M04 kit.

There's also an aluminium knuckle available from Tamiya: 53523 Alu. Front Upright (M03, M04)

-Readily available in, Your Local Hobby Shop, or wherever you buy your Tamiya stuff :-)

Wild Dagger in the snow? Great idea! I do it every winter, only I keep the wheels on.

Cheers.

I believe that hobby etc. has some nice upgrades for the dagger. I think they have aluminum knuckles for it too. Look under the GPM parts section for the dagger. Faster motors are always an inprovement (especially for the dagger with it's low gear ratio). M-tronics has ESCs that would work and in addition they are waterproof (good for snow driving ). Ball bearings are also a good idea. I have also seen graphite chassis avalible for this truck (sorry, I can't remember where). I have a WD too and think it's a great truck.

im getting an evx powered dagger with a waterproof box for it, and all other electronics are balooned. It also has clod wheels, and 4 inch emaxx shocks. If you want graphite parts penguin r/c will cnc cut anything you want, as long as you can get/make a cad drawing of it. I got a graphite chassis and radio tray for an RS4 FOR 55$.
