I see it uses an MSC, so it has to be over 15 years old.

The motor says 1985 on it and I would guess the car to be somewhere around that age also. Not sure of what it is, but IMO your netter off selling it and buying at least something you can get parts for. Your going to be disappointed if you restore this thing and then can't even drive it because you can't find parts. Cool car though.

I think it's way cool looking too but, that's about it.  Maybe it would be a good piece to "clean up" and display rather than investing time and who knows how much money to make it driveable.  Very cool though, notice how they used trailing suspension arms and that ladder aluminum frame is wild!  Things have changed a lot over the years.

You my friend have one of the great early buggies. That is a Kyosho Tomahawk. It was released in 1985. Kyosho tried to mimic 1:1 scale dune buggies looking to find a great performer, unfortunately the RC10 took the world by storm around the same time.

You don't have the right front tires, but still.

Here is a nice picture of one found on the web.

And here is a box art

WOW...still with the original shocks (very compressed though), bumper, not too many scratches on the bottom....fix it up and sell it. If you can't find parts, clean it up and put it up for auction. Collectors will pay money for it.

Good luck.

Oh yeah. I know a guy overseas that buys every single one of these he can. He does amazing restoration projects with them. I had a bunch of CRP hop up parts for these that I sold him.

Here is one of his projects. (what you dont see is the custom made aluminum roll cage under the body so I'll include that picture

He did it to model after Bob Rodine's 1:1 off road buggy

So if you do want to sell it, let me know. I know someone who'd be interested LOL.

Believe it or not.. this is a dumpster find.
Thanks to all who replied.
not sure if I will sell it but I will at least clean it up and look for the few missing parts.
I am a rc heli nut  (trex 450 pro) so I recognized the coolness of this car.
trade for vintage heli might interest me
Thanks again everyone

Note to self....Explore more dumpsters.

Seriously though, congrats on a nice find. They still do well at the vintage races.

It seems to be in good condition. It just needs some cleaning up.
