To date, I've only had one problem with HobbyKing. Iordered a wattmeter from them and it was DOA. I requested an RMA ticket, and told them I wanted to ship it to the USA Warehouse, and would like store credit. When Iprinted off the RMA, it had the Washington Address on it, and about 1-1/2 weeks later, I checked my account and I had a credit for the puchase price. I don't know about you guys, but that is good customer service to me. I figure it like this, there are 7 billion people on this planet, and a lot of them are r/c addicts. If they try hard and are able to satisfy most of us, most of the time, they are doing pretty good. Nobody is perfect, especially me...

My first order from them was for a couple of motors, an ESC, and something else. One motor was DOA. It was cheap so I wrote it off.

My third order was for 3 tiny motors only they had at the time. It included a couple of ESCs to match. Out of those 5 items, one motor burned up in the air along with the ESC on it's second flight. They were in the plane because one of the other motors was DOA and the other motor and ESC wouldn't work together. One reason I ordered multiples was from my experience with them.

Hey, the motors were less than $10 each. And very small motors are notorious for being frail. And I never even tried to get my money back on any of their DOA stuff. Heck, those tiny motors even had solid leadouts, one of which broke when it was unwrapped from around the motor.

But my 3rd order is also my last order.

I really don't care about a company making good on anything that costs less than it costs to ship back. However, I do care about wasting money and time ordering stuff that turns out to be crap.

I said it before the customer relations at HK is virtually non existent so if bottom dollar is what you want it comes with lousy service.I learned that quick!!! I find plenty of vendors without having to go to HK.

I will buy from HK unless find cheaper elsewhere? (namely a 1000w dc power supply at moment)

But always pay with PayPal and credit card for protection.

If many folk get refunds via PayPal HK may improve quality/ service?!

I've been buying for years from HK and have spent thousands of dollars. Batteries, small indoor motors, I have 8 of the 2204 motors with the plush 10a esc and they all work fine. I had one 3S 2200 pack that had one cell around 3.0 v while the others were the normal 3.85v. I took a picture of the bad cell (cell checker) and emailed HK with the battery serial number. They said I should send it in. I stated it was not worth it and that after spending thousands and always getting what I had ordered I would live with the one dead cell, thanks for the choice of cheap electronics. About 2 months later I put in another order and guess what they ship me the 3S 2200 battery that had the one dead cell. So if it's your first order and you have issues, fine don't ever order from them again, I'm happy since more products will be in stock when I order it. If you order enough they treat you like a good customer. I will say I have heard more of the shipping issue just lately.

Hate to say it but the guys that come on here and take shots at HK and say they will never order again are in the minority. The majority of HK customers are out enjoying their cheap products from HK.

FYI this was not my first order,
I have spent close to £1000 from hobbyking in two pervious orders,
Both times the items had fast shipping and the supplied tracking numbers added up,

This last time they gave me a dud tracking number, refused to reply to emails I sent every day for 2 weeks,

And when I opened a dispute with PayPal, hobbyking replied saying that I should close the case,
And offered no other help as to where my items were,
Nor when I would receive them,
I had payed $45 for express shipping and got the worst ever customer service from hobbyking,

On the other hand I recently purchased a picoswitch from dimension engineering,
the item didn't turn up after a couple weeks,
Dimension engineering resent my order the day after contacting them with my picoswitch plus one free with it,
That is outstanding customer service,

Hobbyking are not being bashed here out of spite but simply because they have very poor customer service,

IMO buyer beware, Il never again buy from them.

I just ordered the bixler with the fatshark predator system, it's says that it could take 3 to 5 days to dispatch the bixler to their shipping center , alright no problem there. As soon as I did the payment , I realize that I pick 2 lipo for my bixler instead of 1 for the bixler and one for my fatshark I immediately call them but guess what their tech support is busy right now... Today is day 3 from the payment, still no respond on the phone or email. I really regret my purchase with them, what happen if they ship to the wrong address like others. I paid their rush EMS shipping 80$ it says 3 - 5 day so I'll give them 5 day dispatch + 5 day shipping and we'll see, I'll let you guys know if I got my plane and goggle.

I ordered an out of stock item along with stuff that was in stock. I went on the online chat support and asked them to remove it do they could dispatch the rest. They did and all good!

If your spent thousands you've probably saved hundreds as they are cheap?!
Not defending a lot of their behaviour but they are cheap!?..

I have ordered from HobbyCity/HobbyKing in Hongkong, thousands of dollars of brushless motors, gasoline motors, servos, air retracts, servoless retracts, foam airplanes, ESC's, LiPo batteries, LiPo chargers etc. etc. Paying with PayPal all the time. All the items I ordered were delivered to my address..........I never pay for expedited shipping.......just regular postal mail. Sometimes the stuff arrives in my doorstep here in Los Angeles, California in 5 days.....sometimes in 6 weeks. If backordered, once it took 3 months for the item to be back in the inventory again and then shipped to me. Twice the shipment was routed by the U.S. Postal Service through their New York station....then down to Florida........then down to their main(huge, gigantic) main postal terminal in Florence Ave. in downtown Los Angeles where it sat for 2 weeks without moving(I could see it sat there for 2 weeks thru the U.S. Post Office tracking system)....then magically it arrived at my Los Angeles doorstep after going around the whole United states........total time was 6 weeks in U.S. Post Office transit and sit-in at their Florence station. It is laughable how some of these items travel all over the U.S. courtesy of the U.S. Post OFfice................BUT I HAVE NOT LOST ONE ITEM YET IN ORDERING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS..............lucky is better than good. 'Nuff said. Larry.

all I can say is that it is cheap with chea[p service to boot.

My power supply arrived quickly, was dispatch from local warehouse but it failed 2 days later, when I lodged a warranty claim they wanted me to send this 5kg powersupply to hong kong.

Raised dispute in Paypal, keeping it open and if IO dont get a refund will go to my card provider where I will get a refund, will just take 90 days.

I have bought a lot of stuff from them over the last 5 years and never a problem till now.

Had a rant going on warbirds sect then the fun police shut it down. Maybe HK has lots of influence here too

After I got a full refund from PayPal,

I done what few others would do, I placed another order from hobbyking,

I ordered 2x 2s turnigy 5200 hardcase lipos and a lipo charger,

My items arrived from Hong Kong to Ireland within 5 days,

I then placed another order for 2x 2s zippy 5200 hardcase lipos, they arrived in 5 days also,

That was all back in march,

Just last week I ordered 2 more turnigy 5200 lipos and they arrived in 3 days,

But the hard cases were damaged, both had the same crack in the hardcase right were the wires exit the pack,

I sent an email to hobbyking with pictures on Saturday and on Sunday got a reply asking for pics of the shipping label and all packaging,

So I sent more pics,

On Monday I received a full refund through store credit and they let me keep the batteries,

They are working perfect and I put a little black tape over the crack,

I placed another order for some items on Tuesday and today (Wednesday) i contacted hobbyking through live chat looking to amend my order,

They came online within 30 seconds and amended my order,

Honestly it looks like hobbyking have cleaned up there customer service and I will be placing more orders from them before Christmas,

Just thought I'd share my experience with you guys.

Why is it that   several people complain about the lousy   or  non existant  customer service with   Hobby Krap and    you  get  vultures coming out of the woodwork   praising and  testifying about all the good service and the great products  they get from Hobby Krap.

Are they bragging that they are just special and  Hobby Krap treats them like   kings?      Are they bragging that they do so much business with Hobby Krap that they deserve specil treatment?

Or do they have something else that drives them to  support such a  scam of a company?   What do they get out of it?   Why would they care so much to point out how special they are  and the  wonderful  all mighty Hobby Krap is just the best  hobby supplier in all the world?

Where or how do they benefit?         Are  they getting something from Hobby Krap?    Or are they  just so snobbish and better than thou that they have to brag about it and make the victims feel so  violated?

Frank

What are you on about frank?

I was clearly stating that hobbyking appear to have cleaned up their customer service,

you think that you are SPECIAL?

What do I get out of hobbyking?

Duh, it's a hobby store, I order hobby parts,

What makes hobbyking a scam of a company? You get your wee fingers burnt pet?

Sounds to me that you think you are either above everyone else,

Run along now.

I have made 16 orders from Hobbyking. I know exactly what I am ordering- not top quality stuff but good enough. I have used their customer service twice, on both occassions to my satisfaction. Maybe it helps that I am the Sultan of Dubai, good looking and have a great sense of humour.....

My recent order from HK went through relatively fine.

I say relatively becasue I got it after 4 weeks and paid almost as much for shipping as I did for the merchandise.

I may order from HK again, someday. But they would probably be the last resort choice becasue of the shipping costs.

Also, they are no where near as bad as Nitroplane/Xheli!
