Bryan,
You will not be unhappy if you decide to get the etecs. I am not familiar with the pic so I would not know if you would need a 2 or 3 cell battery. I do know that they put out more than enough amperage, and compared to the HB stock battery they weigh less than half, and put out almost twice the current.

I would, but at 2.5 inches long they are just a little too big to fit in the canopy....with my setup.

Since the battery is bigger, I would not exactly say they are at the top of the lipo game. It is easy to make a bigger battery that puts out more current. Now if the battery was the same size as the etec, and/or could be charged faster, then that would be a different story
Thunder Power definitely is at the top of the lipo game in my opinion. I didn't necessarily mean for micro size as the small packs pretty much just came out, but I ran a 3s4p in my Voyager E and it is awesome, they're also ran in Coronas, Logo 10's, 20's, E Raptors with absolutely top notch performance and success, no other packs even compare right now.

As far as the 1320's though, I haven't yet tried them but will soon, it's only about 1/8 of an inch longer than the Etec pack, gimme a break. It would easily fit in the canopy, I have way more room than that to spare with my etec in there...

The Etec's are definitely great cells, I'm not saying otherwise, but I'm sure the Thunder Power's hold voltage even better and will get longer run times and the price is about the same...

According to the dimensions posted on their website, the 1320 is just shy of being a half inch longer than the etec. The dimensions of the 1320 are:

2.5"x 1.37"x 0.5" /2 oz.

The dimensions of the etec 1200 are:

2.15"x 1.39"x 0.56" /1.6 oz.

This is more than 1/8 of an inch difference. The 1320 will not fit in my setup. The 1200 just barely fits. But the 1320 may fit in yours depending on the way you have your's set up, and no where did I imply it would not. But I would be curious to know when you get the 1320.

BTW when I get my next heli, of course I will be looking at thunderpowers since I am still thinking about an Eolo or a Logo 10.

for a larger heli like that nimhs might be the best bet, couse although theyre heavier they can discharge much faster (cramk out more amps) and so you would need a very large lipo pack (perhaps a few wired in series).

Here is an example of the power vs weight and cost comparison for batteries for the Robbie Eolo.

A Gold Peak 3300mah NiMH 8 Cell pack weighs 17 oz and costs about $70.00

A Sanyo 2400mah SCR NiCd 8 Cell pack weighs 17 oz and costs about $52.00

A Thunderpower 7800mAh, 3S4P LiPo pack weighs 16.2 oz and costs $200.00

A Thunderpower 8200mAhmAh, 3S4P LiPo pack weighs 17 oz and costs $230.00

So the only thing that would prevent me from starting out with LiPos for the bigger heli would be the cost factor, although the difference is not that much considering one would want to start out with at least two of the NiMh or NiCd batteries. I am sure the costs would jump for a Logo 10.

i think a lipo two pack 1200 would be perfect for my piccolo fun . i was also wondering were you can get cp upgrade for a piccolo fun. with every thing needed to fly. the extra servo, mixer, and somthing for idle up, and the collective pitch kit. i want to keep it under $150. or would buying a piccolo pro be better.

Yes, the lipo is pricey but if you consider that with say the 3s4p you'd probably get a continuous 30+ minute flights in the Eolo, not to mention better voltage throughout the entire pack. I was getting 23 minutes in a bigger and much heavier Voyager E. The continous flight time alone makes it worth it... Always good to have a couple of regular packs though for those spur of the moment quickie flights... I'm still waiting to I have some extra $ to get a 4s4p for my Logo 10, the 8200 is $300!

Please let me know what kind of flight time you get with your Logo when you get the LiPo for it. My guess would be at least 25 minutes. I know LiPos really are the only way to go. Thanks.

Lipos sound great but how do you know when the back gets too low?

Is there a product in the market that would light a LED or some other notice to the pilot?

i beleive the either fma direct or batteries plus sells such a thing. hobbico alos sells a voltage indicator for about 30 dollars but im not sure if it will work with high voltages. your best bet is probably to get a programmable speed control and set the shutoff for 3*the number of cells, and that will prevent them from gettin too low.

You'll get a feel for it, but most heli's are almost in GE by the time the voltage gets too low. In my Voyager E, I could easily tell when my headspeed got really low, I'd almost be to the point where I'm in GE and I just land, it's always been at around 11 volts.

I didn't try in my Logo 10 yet but of all the others that I've talked to that run lipos, their's also in GE before it gets to dangerously low voltages so it's really easy to tell, best to just bring it down when you first notice headspeed dropping to check and then check periodically on the first couple of runs just in case. Every motor and pinion combo will vary a bit and I guess it's possible to gear it where you can still fly in dangerously low voltages but everyone that I've heard of so far including myself (in my VE) is easily able to tell when to land as the headspeed gets really low and most is in GE or barely able to even hover... (If you're very worried about it, you can just time your first few flights, then minus maybe a minute and set your timer and just land when the timer goes off as the lipo is very consistent.)

Gazoo---It'll probably be a month or so before I get a lipo pack for my Logo, but others have been getting 25-30 minutes of smooth sport flying with the 4s4p 8200 and the 3Der's are getting almost 20 minutes of full hard 3D. Very Impressive! There's a bunch of Thunder Powered Logo 10 flyers on ezone, just go there, www.rcgroups.com and put in a search for thunder power Logo 10 or lipo logo 10 etc... Or just Thunder Power You'll find a bunch of great info...
