Hi all, i'm new to the site and to the world of rc car/trucks, i was woundering if anyone can help me please. About a month back my son got himself his first truck and when i had a go i just had to get myself one , to get to the point i got myself a second hand Hpi Savage big block, the chap i got it off told me all it needed was a new steering sirvo and then it was good to go, BUT after fitting the servo i found out there might be more things wrong with the truck. It starts no probs (ok im no muchanic so i'm a novice when it comes to tuneing it lol) and i aplly the power it only go's around three mph no power at all, can anyone help me please?

Does the motor seem to rev up at all? Does it sound crisp or blubbery? Could be a tuning issue. If it revs up but doesn't move very well it could be a warn clutch or slipper. Try tightening the slipper all the way (the little nut on the big plastic gear)

Hi and thank you for the reply, it revs and when the power is apllied it dont go only crawls, when ticking over it pops (sorry thats the only way for me to explane it lol) and theres a tiny sound like metal hitting metal + fule gushing out the tail pipe. Ihope this helps as i'm not very good at explaining. Oh i've also been told to look for any signs of fileings but there's no sign of this,

Its sounds like its too rich lean it out some
Only some blue smoke should be coming out of the exhaust

Outta curiosity what fuel are you using?

It also sounds like the slippers too loose (it loosens on occasion and has to be re-tightened) tighten that nut down all the way that is holding the spur on, and loosen it up like 1.5-2.5 turns.

yes it is the one with the spring.
I meant brand of nitro, also it should be 20% (could be some of your issue)
