One more question Jim, ....well a couple questions actually,... will raffle tickets be available for sale and if so, how much?
Also, did yall ever discuss or decide how the race would be done at the end, doing A,B,C mains and that says who the winner is,.or,.. just say the winner of heats/points at the end of the event?
Just curious is all.
Thanks,
John

Yes John there will be a raffle tickets will be $1.00 each or six for $5.

We have some really nice trophies this year, 1st through 4th place in A, B & C mains Fastest time and two for Best Crash  LOL

As I would like to see the trophies get spread around as much as possible.  I plan on running 8 rounds (6 if the weather acts up on Sunday) and then take the top 12 to the A,B,& C mains with no moving up.  I haven given a lot of thought to this and I think this is the best way to do it.  I know Jason wanted to sand bag and get inro the C maine and then work his way up and win the A maine and fast time.  So he could take all the trophies home with him.

Me gots a question about directions to Waco, ....I have the option of going thru Dallas, which to me seems that its travelling a tad too far North, or I can miss Dallas and divert a little South and go thru Tyler Texas to get to Waco. The Dallas way is what my TomTom plotted, but it is not correct some of the time . Im on the road early in the AM headed out that way !! What say you folks in the know?
Thanks,
John

Dont you get smart with me Mister! We didnt discuss the Dallas part, LOL
Nah bro, I just mapped it out on TomTom and it shows the route just going thru the South part of Dallas, it just seems that it looks to be a tad out of the way as far as the way Waco seems on the map, but it may just be the quickest as far as time goes.
Appx what time you getting to the motel Eric?
The route planner says about 10 and 1/2 hours drive time if I leave at 6am and it has me arrriving at 4:37, that is if I dont run into any head winds

I won't be there till Friday. But I plan to leave pretty early. Dallas IS the way to go, the Tyler route will drive you nuts with all the speed traps and BS.

looking at the map it looks like it would be about 80-90 miles further if you go through Dallas. the route through Carthage and Palastine would be shorter but you will be traveling through a lot of small towns.

6 in one , a half dozen in the other. most of the highways have a speed limit of 70mph.

have a safe trip.

Freddy, I hope to see you at the race this weekend despite what you posted last month. It's always a better race when you show up.

Is this the National Championship Race or a "trophy distribution" event?

First Day completed, 6 rounds of 6 heats done, a few crashes, midairs, mishaps; a few snags on the comunications between the time keeper/lap counters and the Flag Man/Starter, a fix is in the works to correct it for tommorow's finals, 24 Pilots, was expecting more, a good day, a few very short rain delays; after the first Day Steve Fabiake, Fred French, Randy Ritch, Gary Fisher, to name a few are in the top 10.

the race was a good one on Saturday  with Gary Fisher and Fabianke setting the standard. I lost 2 planes in back to back heats. Hit number 2  pylon in 4th heat and set out the 5th heat getting back-up ready. 6th heat hit number 1 pylon. I'm not there today but I believe Gary will win it. He seems to be the most consistent.

1st C-40 Nats in Waco, is in the Books; 2nd Day went great, a lot better, communication between the Pylon Judges, Lap Counters and Flag Man still a problem, seems to be a common problem at every race, best solution may be everyone Flys 10 Laps Regardless, Pylon Judges report the Cuts after the Race, 10 Seconds assessed to time for 1st Cut, 2nd Cut gets you a D/C.

When the dust settled, Randy Ritch Got 1st Overall, Crowned Club 40 National Champion, Fred French 2nd, Gary Fisher actually Crashed and Placed 4th; the other standings will surely be posted.

Off hand other notables, Steve Fabiake; Fastest Time and 1st in 'B-Main' or 5th Overall; Bob Petrinec 1st in 'C-Main' or 9th Overall.

A great race, I'm sure all will agree; hopefully, the 2nd Annual C-40 Nats will be held in Waco again next October, and we can make it better with as little or no problems or snags as possible.
