Hi Ali,

Welcome to the EDF side of jet flying.  I believe BVM has done a lot to bring EDFs to the main stream.  BVM is the only company that ha airframes and power systems designed to work to together without having to try to figure it out for yourself.  There are other power systems out there that go to the next level of turbine like sound and higher thrust out put, like the Schubeler HST fans.

I plan to attend BITW this year and will have a Skymaster L-39 and a BVM 80 inch F-86 (if I finish building it by then), both powered with a 130N and 112N Schubeler HST fans.  You are welcomed to fly them both.

Kirk

Still not into hair dryers. They kinda take the scale feel out of jets. Although if I were to seriously get into them I would definitely go BVM. The only ones I have ever seen that are worth anything are the ones that are pure custom or the BVM ones. Who is that guy that had that BVM F86 at the JWM? That thing is dialed in. Professoinal series hair dryer lol.

The model belongs to Carl Rich, But I'll take credit for the build, thank you very much.
Bob

You did that?? Awsome! Now I know who to go to should the dark side overcome me! lol.

I knew there was going to have to be some humble pie consumed by me on this one, thanks for being gentle guys.

EDFhobic.. Thats a keeper right there

Kirk, Thats really very kind of you, and I look forward to it. I am wondering what it's going to take to find someone to build me a nice E Bandit to have as my own BITW plane, or who knows.. Maybe the BVM guys will be heading out that way and might be kind enough to let me have a fly before I buy deal as per the Mig

Dom, If Henry's top half was silver instead of black, it would even be the right colours!

Marc. The set up is stock BVM. The EVF 3 comes with the motor and speedo pre fitted. I think ( probably wrong given what I know about edf) that its a Neu motor and castle creation 160 amp controller. Cells are 12 s ( 3 packs of 4) 7700 Mah Thunderpowers. All the stock suggested JR Digitals. My only sadness is that I was just to early for the electric gear set up. The convenience of not needing air for the gear would be the real clincher.

Andy. It happens to us all. Your time will come one day. I will save you a spot on the sofa of pee!

Pablo. I still call you all sorts of names It's just now I have to pay you a compliment for building me such a sweet plane...... and oh my goodness does that hurt

Regards Al

Just to throw in my 2 cents... I think it's less of a sin than flying glow. Nothing wrong with electricity these days.

I'm sure Philip can help with that, here's a concept art!
