Taz_Hobbies -> Can someone help identify this plane please? (3/5/2012 2:53 AM)

A little something I picked up off craigslist. Can anyone help me identify it?
I am looking forward to going thru it and getting it flight ready.
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I started to remove the crude electric conversion and mounted a .46 for mock-up tonight. Looking forward to getting her back up to snuff.

It has a 48" span. I haven't been able to find anything else out on it. It was a nitro plane to start with, then soemone tried to convert it. We have it back to nitro and should be finsihing it up next week sometime.
My biggest concern was power. I am thinking it had a .61 on it previously as the mounting holes are larger than the .46 Magnum holes I am planning on using.

But thanks for the help fellas. I appreciate it.

I think it may be a Mojo! Is there a carbon/glass tube in the fuse under that covering?

No it doesn't. In fact last weekend marked the first time in nearly 20 years I was in the air. Boy it was a hoot! Sadly, this little profile fella met it's demise on the landing roll on flight #3. During flight #3 we heard what I thought was a vibration, possibly the motor mounting bolts getting loose. Turned her into the wind and landed in some grass. During the roll out she hit a clump of grass and severed the fuse ahead of the wing, behind the engine. No other damage, just broke apart. Upon further inspeaction, it is my opinion that the plane was poorly constructed. Where epoxy should have been used, it appeared to be thin CA and so on. After removing much of the fuse from around the wing root, it was very clear that whoever built her, wasn't very liberal with the adhesive.

Either way, the landing gear isn't bent, there isn't even a scuff on the plane. Just hit that little bump/clump of grass and basically fell apart.

She did not die in vein. She has donated her wing & tail feathers for a future scratch build.

In all fairness, here she is just before flight number #3:

Okay... ease up. I am sure everyone was just trying their best to help me. I was only trying to figure it out so I try and hunt a fuselage for it. I was thinking of rebuilding it. Never hurts to have a basher around.

It's all good. I am sure I'lI have plenty of questions when I build my Thunder Tiger Fun Fly Tiger, a Seagull Ultimate 90, a 65" span P-51 Mustang, an electric 36" 330L Extra, a Great Planes Easy Sport .40 and my 91" scratch built Big Hots...

Jerry,

Unless they made a profile/flat fuselage Twist 40, his plane is not one.

Really? Was this necessary? Was your $.02 more valuable here?

For the record, at first glance I though it could possible be a MoJo myself, perhaps and early model?
They don't look that much different..... bro.

My gosh... so many keyboard commandos around here. The guy was just trying help. Take a deep breath already.

the issue is your asking a dumb question... basically its a none name brand profile everyone who knows anything knows that and its also irrelevant but there is a lot of people whom come along and offer up speculation clear speculation because they have no clue what they are talking about but they throw out miss information and they throw it out in a format that state's the information as factual ... and that's what pisses off fellow rcu bloggers is the **** miss information so don't get on the guy he's in the right ...

I am asking a dumb question? Really? Dumb?
It's a "none" brand ? What the hell kind of brand is that? Try no name brand. And how the hell do you know that?
Irrelevant? To who, you? Who gives a damn what you think?
Now you too are throwing out "miss information"...

Who cares what pisses you or anyone else off? This was my question in my thread. It's my God Damn plane and I was interested in finding a little more about it. It's people like you ZacharyR who have an opinion on eveything, yet can't spell and can barely form a sentence that make forums so damn hard to find enjoyable. And somehow, in my irrelevant post, you felt the need to comment?

I'll bet I have underwear older than you...

Jeez. I own a Mojo. Maybe I should have taken a closer look a the plane in the picture. It was on my phone, so it was not on a big screen where I could see all the details. Anyway, like Taz said, I was just trying to help.

Remember the Golden Rule, my friend, and best of luck in life.

It wasn't a dumb question to ask what plane it was. I can't believe RCU has come to this, where a fellow R/C enthusiast can't ask the RCU community for a little help without being publicly insulted just for asking. Maybe it's time to head elsewhere. This is worse than Facebook.

Anyway Taz, best of luck with the rebuild. Not sure when people in this hobby became so unfriendly, but I'm glad I don't fly with them.

Take care.

Thanks Patto.

I am so excited to be back in the hobby it's not even funny. Jerks like that guy can sniff my exhaust. And I do apologize fo my outburst, I have had an epidemic of his type today so I lost my coool a little.

I hope he pays attention though, I am going to have tons of questions for my fellow hobbyists. I have a 64" P-51 going together, a SeaGull Ultimate Bipe, a 91" Big Hots, a 81" Ultra Hots, a 54" Super Hots, a 48" Hots, a 48" Hot Hots 3D, a Great Planes Easy Sport .40, a 71" Piper Cub, a 36" EP 330L, a 48" Wild Thing, a 48" Extra Wild and a 33" Foamie 3d I plan to teach my kid to fly with!

I will have TONS of questions to upset that guy with! TONS... LOL!

My youngest is an airplane addict. He soloed at age 4 and is now getting into 3D at age 6. If you think this hobby is fun now, just wait until your kid gets hooked.
