Status: offline 		I am unsure and am sure that you guys can clarify this. With regards to the ignition batt on my DA 50 i am a bit worried about it running low etc. without the battery the motor wont run? so how long would i get on a 4.8v 1000mah battery. This is what Da recommends but i am sure you guys could suggest a better longer living alternative??

i dont know too much, but today i learnt something cool.

check this web page:
http://www.lcrcc.net

click on the e-flight calculator, enter the data.. and you can have an idea of the running time of your batteries..

its cool, you can also learn about right thrust, wing loading, enging offset.. so on..

Status: offline 		That size is fine, you should get 3-5 flights on it depending on how long they are Id guess. Just check the voltage after each flight then you will know how long it will last. As it goes dead you will loose power.
