For a brief moment I was going to offer you some of my spare bearings, then remembered that you don't fly YS. RC country does carry a lot of bearings. You could call Joe and ask. If he has them, I could pick some up and fed ex them your way if you are interested send me a PM.

Marty, Trade ya a set for some Rossi bearings  LOL      They are MPI units. They have aluminum hubs and come with multiple size bushings. The tires are foam but with a hard rubber ridge down the center. Very light.

Thanks Jimmy, I just sent an order out to Boca with 2 day shipping. Cutting it close but no other choice. If they don't show in time or don't fit then I will just have to sit out Fresno. My Sam's silver airplane is still running as strong as ever.

When I flew the engine today, it sounded like it had a turbo. I was testing an APC 11X11 and it just didn't want to unload onto the pipe. Maybe with new bearings it will. Wondering how much RPM is lost with bad bearings? My guess would be at least 500. Pulled the engine and there was a puddle of fuel in the cowl so she was sucking air too. Everything else looks good.

Awesome. Thx.
Is that a Rossi engine? I have one I took out of a Stiletto with rear Tuned exhaust. I believe it is a 60 or 61 FIRE.
If ya cant get bearings in time, let me know. I'll send ya the engine to help you out.

According to the weather channel app on my phone (there's an app for that ) the weather is looking good for Sunday. 60% chance of rain Saturday but 0% chance on Sunday. Hope it's right!

I had to add 4" to each wing tip to make 440 Sq so i could run a 2 stroke up to a 60. Does this wing look scale enough to be allowed to race. I havent finished the wing tips as the will be rounded. i can take back to orginal size and run up to a 50 if need to but I would like to beable to run OS 55AX or other engines in this range that are still on the market. Some of the engines like the 55 AX dont last long when turning a 11x7 at 15,000+.

So let me know if will be legal this way. i know it looks funny but you guys do allow the PM strega lol.

Wow, never seen a Spit with a TA-152 wing but I guess you see something new everyday . I guess the Luftwaffe got desperate and started taking shot down Spitties and using them however they could....sounds almost believable.

Well, I will be doing salsa tomorrow, so be ready. I am having a heck of a time getting these pontoons on my Tempest. I have a feeling we all may be needing them...

I dont know if i will have the plane ready or not for sunday. i still have to finish covering it, and figure out the cowl. I can make out of wood or Fiberglass. i made a foam cowl last night with one layer of cloth but this is a new area for me with the fiberglass stuff lol. may just have to run Silver and dont run a cowl.

Jake, the weather forcast looks favorable. If there are any rain clouds, it's because you brought them with you.

yes i bought it a couple of years ago. The orginal owner had a nelson 40 in it. If i have to i can go back to orginal wing area of 420 and run a 50 size engine.

I was wondering where it went as I helped build it. I also have the prototye plans for it as well it will be cool to see it in the air again..

Anybody ran a YS 1.40 in anything yet? That is my other option for the September Fury. I'm flying it now with a Saito 100 and it does pretty well for hauling around a 10 lb model. What model of the 1.40 would be best for racing? With the wing area of this thing I can run up to a 1.80.

I have a friend here in town that has a near new YS-140L for sale. I think They were like $550.00 new and this one has 4 tanks through it. $275.00.

Planebender

Dave I'm interrested in that 1.40 could you bring it out to the race on Sunday. What prop would you recommend using on it?

I will not be there for the race tomorrow. I dont want to rush it. I also whent back to the old wing area and I found a source that is still making a 50 size engine that i can use.

TDSTAF I am very interested in buying a set of plans from you or getting a copy in PDF/electronic version. my email is airraptor@comcast.net or can call on my cell 707-386-4284
