Hello all,

I have contacted Jim at RCcity as I am interested in getting one of the Summit 120 kits which he is offering. Although it is sacrelegious, it will probably be an electric conversion once I am done putting it together. Right now I am trying to size the power system. So far I have assumed that the plane has a wing span of 70", 800 sqin and weighs around 9 lbs, but I have not been able to find the actual specs. Does anyone happen to know what the actual wing span, wing area and weight might be?

Thank you,

Teo

Teo,

Well, I'd imagine that Jim would know if he's producing them. Does he not have the details?

David,

I did ask Jim about the specs and he told me that he would look them up for me. I don't think he has them comitted to memory yet. In the meantime, being a little impatient, I though I would just post the question in case some one knew the answer.

Thanks,

Teo

Jim,
Glad you are back and best of luck with RC City.
About 15 years ago I bought a built Conquest 7 from you at your booth at Toledo. I put a YS 61 AR on it and without question, it was the best flying plane I ever had in my 28 years of flying rc. I even think my wife was jealous of it, as I spent so much time with it over the years. Hopefully after you get things up and running, you'll consider bring at least one of the Conquests back.

Thanks again and good flying,
paul

Thanks for the good words about the kits. It is really nice to hear about a plane we built that has lasted for a long time and was a favorite to fly.  I have the molds for the Conquest 6, Conquest 7, and Conquest 120. I should be able to produce them when requested by customers.  By the way, I have a booth at Toledo this year hope to see you there

Jim,
I actually have glass fuses for a Conquest 6 and a Conquest 120.
Maybe you can help me at some point, with some cores. My 7 had fenestrated cores that were incredibly light and strong.

Best,
paul

So Much to do and so little time.  I have called the cores honey-combed, guess I will have to change. I don't have any conquest cores in stock at this time, but will when I get orders.  See you at Toledo.

Hi Jim,
Good luck with R/C City version 2.0 .
I had both a C6 and a C7 and they both flew well, though I really preferred the C6 which had more fuselage side area (the slightly deeper belly pan made pipe installation a lot easier, too) and was a great rolling airplane and a bit more visible. My first C6 had about 700 flights, but the C7 only had about 1/10 of that before I sold it.
As I recall, the C6 fuselage incorporated your improvements/changes to Dave Patrick's versions which all sported the smaller fuselage.

Will you have a Summit III .60 available? I still have my old RC City catalogs from way back when. Always wanted one.

TIA
J.

Does anyone know the location of the CG on a Conquest VI?  I bought one used and have it almost ready for a test flight.  It has a 1991 AMA sticker on the tail so I would guess that it was built around that time.  There are no identifying marks on the plane to indicate the kit manufacturer.  Specs are:  YS 1 R; dry weight 8.75 lbs.; wing - 65"; fuse - 67"; fiberglass fuse; balsa sheeted and cored foam wings.  It now balances
8.5 inches behind the leading edge at the fuse, and that seems to me at least a couple of inches too far back.  The trailing edge of the wing is swept back a little, and I don't know how to calculate the CG.

If you have the specs for this plane, I would also appreciate aileron and elevator throws.

I will be at the meet in Andersonville, Ga the 19th of this month May.  The web site is getting there.  Not done yet, however I will have catalogs next week.

I had a meeting today with my autocad man about the Summit 120.  I have tryed all sources for 120 plans, but to no avail.  I should have a good idea next week on the Summit 120.  I have all instock for the LA-1, and the Jekyll 60 is next.  I am going to give one away at the Andersonville meet for their 50/50 or whatever.  Any questons sent me a private message  jog0723@gmail.com

I have a friend that is selling 3 planes (Nemesis and Elan also), and one happens to be a Summit 120. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll pass on the info.

Stabs are finish, wings are partially covered (MonoKote to finish is included), and the fuselage is ready to prime and paint. Set-up for a Hyde-Mount. $375, and would rather not ship, but something could be figured out.
