So im not really an expert when it comes to rc cars but i can typically figure my problems on my own. This one has me stumped. So i was running my stadium truck (Traxxas Rustler) and it suddenly just stopped moving. I could still steer though. So i set it to the side and came back to it the next day.

When i did, it began running just fine again. But after about 10 minutes of running...maybe not even...it just stopped.

So i asked around and got the answer that either my speed controller(Futaba MC230CR)  was failing, or that my gear ratio, which i had set toward more speed, was much to high and causing over heating.

So my next step was to change the gear ratio back to what it was back when it was working just fine. But to no avail...it still did it. So then i took my speed control out and replaced it with a spare that i had (Duratrax Sprint 2, which is the stock one from my Duratrax Evader).  Still a no go. I began to suspect my reciever at this point. Once again i changed it from my stock Traxxas one to the one that came with my Evader. NO, it still does it. The only peice left is my motor (Which is the stock motor from the Evader).  I still have yet to replace the motor but i intend to try that.

So then this leaves me with two questions, Does the motor(or my speed controllers) have a built in heat senser? And what kind of things could cause sudden stoppage of the motor?

Sounds like your ESC is on it's last legs.... You probably got it to hot doing speed runs.

You may want to grab a spare battery pack too,and check to see if you have a bad connector or break in the circuit there.

Although i had not thought of that, i dont beleive that is the problem because i am running the ESC and the steering from the main battery, and i can still always steer. But i did look over all my batteries and i didn't find any defective wires. Thanks for the idea though!

The ESC has a temp sensor, but the Photon Speed2 motor does not. (I have two Evaders) You did all these experiments, changing everything EXCEPT the motor. Methinks the problem is obvious.  The PS2 motor is a cheap, brushed motor who's brushes are bonded to copper spring tabs. And brushes wear.  I suspect that the brushes have worn, and as you run the motor, the copper tabs heat up and warp, causing the brush to loose contact, and the motor stops.  I had a PS2 actually drop a brush. The copper tab broke.  Go brushless, dude.

well the motor was the problem. i didnt fully understand the workings of the motor. so the fact that the spring would warp makes perfect sence. thank you for your feedback!
