No Ron,when the snow flys I have a TFGS P51 fuse that I have to rebuild so I'll have my hands full.I don't have the patience to do what you all do but I love to fly so maybe one of these days I'll do a detailed war bird.

Progress has been slow. I have finally caught up with work after the repercussions of Sandy, however still on the busy side with baby at home, and helping out with some disaster relief when there is free time. At the same time www.voy-tech.com has been keeping things busy as well ... too bad a full Garmin navigation system just would not be right in a p-47

I have been working on the cockpit. I am using some Dynamic Balsa items like the vacuum formed floor, and walls , but mostly its parts from http://www.iflytailies.com/ .

Since the backside of the cockpit is going to be partially visible, this too is getting some more detail added ...

Great thread, I just spent a full cup of coffee enjoying it this morning! V, always impressed with your models, hope our paths cross next year. Perhaps at Hamburg? Would love to see your work first hand.

Thanks guys .. well, i'm pretty much wrapped up with the cockpit. All that's left there is to do some animatrinic magic on the pilot, and to attack the gunsight ... but that's for after the maiden flight most likely. The detail inside of the wheel wells is similar .. also with hydraulic lines and hoses, and cable harnesses etc ..

Thanks Greg

affas, in the wheel wells I used regular zinc chromate ( real stuff out of the spray can) i know there were various shades, some more yellow and some more green ... used on the p-47s. I just used what I thought looked good

I have a lot more completed now, just need to take some pics .. In the cockpit which i seem to have been fixated on lately, the gun sight is now in. I made the frame structure out of styrene. The gun-sight itself is from www.iflytailies.com

Time to take the cockpit to a whole new level

this is just a preview ... The completed pilot will have 6 points of animatronic function, fully autonomous, with the option of mixing in RX input.

Cool pilot. I looked into those a few years ago. I was looking for something in the 1/4 size. They said they were in the plans but have they finally made them?

I was going to put him in a WWI bipe and then have him wave his hand on a fly by.. now that would be great!..

Bob, at www.voy-tech.com we we are actually soon going to introduce a pilot animatronics kit which will allow the set up of most pilots with animated functions. As the pilots varry in design and size, it will be up to the user to fir the servos and mechanical attachments. We can do custom work, but that's on a one off basis for now. If there is enough intrest, we might carry the 1/6 and 1/4 pilots already built and animated.

all the best,

Wojtek
