Hey everybody that's not going to read this.
I took my SCTE out to the skate park tonight... it was going fine except all the ramps and stuff launched the truck funny I was getting a nice little run going after I got the feeling for it in the air. The truck started acting up and wouldn't turn very well so I pulled it in to do a quick pit stop and it wouldn't turn right anymore only too the left and it would not center anymore it would stay locked over to the left. So I just got home and sat on the computer because my run was cut short.

Hitec HS-645MG

I'm going to assume its toast :-/

I've heard great about the savox line. My problem is I'm broke for a while.
Know of any budget priced servos? preferably one that wont die on me from a few cased jumps?

Reading this thread, I'm thinking that you had a fantastic crash episode with it before this

use his one. i have used it for 4 years and it's still blistering quick. we put it in an hpi vorza, never going back.

you will be shocked at what you paid for it.

+1 hitec 645's are good servos. If you wrecked one of those, how long do you expect a budget servo to last?

agree I royally clipped my Jammin X1 CRT's front tire(enough to snap the arm in half, and jammin owners will know thats not an easy feat), and the servo took it with no issues.
only thing I can think is either his servo saver is too tight, or he has none on it.

Got one myself in a rustler, great servo for the price, super quick and has held up fine with bashing, but I haven't jumped it off any case jumps lately.

I wouldn't say it was a FANTASTIC crash session... like I said I did take it to the skatepark and all the ramps launch high with no traction but it is what it is... by the way the gears didn't get destroyed the electronics on it did (I took it apart today) so my hobby shop has a hs-5645 for 40 so I'm just going to grab that

ThunderbirdJunkie likes his Savox 1258TGs and Spektrum S6040s. The B4 and 22T both have one with aluminum steering pieces and no servo savers and they hold up pretty well. Granted, your SCTE weighs double what they do, but it also has a servo saver The 1258TG in the XXX-SCT has given ThunderbirdJunkie a year and a half of faithful, faultless service (although the 1258TG does not center quite as well as the 6040, but you'll never notice unless you own both)

The nice thing about the Savoxes is they're only another $20 over the Hitec 645 if you're shopping at Hobbytown.

I like any servo that has a metal output shaft on it, so if it ever gets whacked by something won't strip out the screw or crack the output shaft itself.

YES!!!!

So I got the new 5645 put in in the process something bad but turned out to be good happened.

So in order to get the servo in the radio-box needs to come out, well the speedo-rx wire is a little tight... In the process of getting that undone and such because the receiver needed to come out to get the old connector into and out of the box the antennae broke. So I found some comparable sized wires and made myself a new antennae wire, ran the radio in high res mode and BAM no more glitching no more cogging no more dirty tricks! the SCTE FINALLY drives correctly.

Edit for grammatical errors.
STOKED!

Hi res? Sounds like a high-tech radio that you've got there.

futaba 3pm fs IMO one of the best radios in rc on a budget the receiver is like $80-90 10 model memory, hi resolution mode, adjustable frequency, epa, d/r, servo acceleration curves, trim sub trim, anti lock brakes, timer almost all the major features you need. under $200 and now they have a 2.4Gz one now

I just needed a digital servo to take advantage of it. And a new antenna :-/

But yea now I have it figured out and its getting better, the more I set it up. Now I moved the battery rearward to get better rear traction and to reduce oversteer she used to loop around all the time.
Next I need to set up the suspension a little better she rides too hard and kind of pogo sticks on woops.

and a new body soon

YEAH man, I'm savin' that link!  Looks like an awesome servo for $15.  Honestly, with a servo like that, who would spend five times the money on a Savox?
