I got news today that we have an additional sponsor. RC Pilot magazine is contributing some goodies as well.
I've also been hearing from some pretty fast guys who lurk here, they plan to come out on the 30th.
250 stickers are on hand as well as some new event stickers that I think will be a hit.

June 30 is coming quick!

Vic, You remember what happened on the first flight of the Magnum in 2010. My new MagnumR is ready to maiden which i hope to accomplish on Sunday. I still haven't figured out why the Magnum went stupid after launch so i am starting a thread to get a little help and make sure the same doesn't happen this year. I'll come back and post the link to the new thread. Appreciate any help from the experts.

Here is the link to the new thread. Didn't want to hijack this one for technical info. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11119653/anchors_11119653/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#11119653

I hope you get the bugs worked out. We don't want any problems when you get up here. If you get out a little early we can do plenty of practice runs.

I got a great big ol box from Great Planes and Hobbico this weekend. They really did a nice job in sending some goodies. The have provided a Rifle and motor combo for raffle. I'll post what the tickets will be after our meeting tomorrow night.

Thanks again!!!

Vic i'm gonna have to sit this one out this year.  To much going on right now and I still did not get my plane finished.  I guess this is what being a daddy is all about.  Im planning to be down some point this summer so we will have to do some flying.  Here is a recent picture of Cam flight box in hand ready to fly.

Chris, Its all good brother! He looks like he's ready to go. Let me know when you are down here and we will go over to the field and have a mini rally with the doppler recorder.

Any decent "cheap" motels in the area? How far are you time wise from Chapel Hill?

Vic good luck with the Rally, I hope to see you at next years if you hold one.
Maybe I have a plane that actually would qualify as a speed plane by then...

I hope to see you next year as well. We most likely will as this is the biggest event our club holds and we get a nice response from it.
Don't worry about qualifying for anything. We had one guy fly a park flyer at 37mph. It's all about having a good time and seeing what other people do to go fast.

I'm getting really close on my Q40.

Vic I have no doubt you will see 200 out of that quickie.  Just keep it off the runway this year and you'll be fine.

Hahhaaa.
Miss Ashley Q40, Nelson long stroke.

It looks like Saturday will be a total scorcher with the temp possibly hitting 100+. Please drink plenty of water and bring a tent if you have one. We will have a cooler with ice water available too.

Even by North Carolina standards it will be very hot Saturday. We are in an area known as the Piedmont which is basically the edge of the mountains and usually a pleasant climate when you are around trees. I think you will find it beutiful here after you see thru the heat, coming from Michigan I know I don't think I could live without mountains as a backdrop again.

AF, you have a PM with my cell# give me a call when you hit town, we can try to meet up. I plan to be at the field for a bit Friday evening to make sure it is all set and possibly to get a flight or two in. Maybe we can share a frosty.

Anyone else coming in from out of town, PM me and I will give you further contact info in case you want to get some practice in or do some drinking...

From one Cardiac patient to another, a damp or wet towel around the neck will help keep your body temp down.
It's much worse than the Sahara, the Sahara is dry, the humidity is really an interesting little plus in the southeast (as well as here at times).

Vic, The Piedmont is one of the few areas that I could survive down there in NC.
Besides you always can use a bit of the Jar Juice to help overcome some of the symptoms , speaking from experience there on a trip to the Piedmont many, many years ago. There is usually a nice breeze near the mountains.
