Hyperion EOS720i Super DUO3 battery charger. Good? Bad?

Thoughts?

I have one and really like it, but some people are saying it is "old" technology and there are cheaper and better chargers out there.

Crispyspa,

If you like it and it is handling the current chemistries that you are using I says who cares how old it is....plus it looks like it has dual outputs which seems to be a price point with a lot of chargers.

Thanks,
Tom

You're absolutely right, I really do like it. Today I balance charged two Max Amps 6000Mah 3s batteries @ 14 amps each in 33minutes, both batteries took like 4980Mah....And that's not even near the capacity of the charger or the c charge rate of the batteries. If I wanted to get more out of it I'd need to get the 24v power supply.

I have one also.  Really like it and exceeds my charging needs.  Like the fact that you can charge different cell counts with the same charger.  I have not heard "old technology" in the forums.  Just finished putting together a 24v power supply from old servers.  Now I need to find  a case to fit my needs.

I use one too and it's great. I even have the older one (forgot the model number) with only one screen and it is still serving me well.

Those power supplies are awesome. How many amps do they put out?

I think its 57 amps @ 24V.  Plenty for my Super Duo.  Gettting a couple of parallel boards from EP Buddy.  I mostly use 6S and will be able to charge pretty quick with this set up.  Nice thing is, the power supplies are dirt cheap!

Goldenduff, I got these power supplies on Ebay.  $30 for 2 with shipping.  I will send you a PM to a link on the type and how to hook them up.  Very easy.

Those servers power supplies are perfect for the Duo.  As they are designed for servers, they are extremely stable.   PM sent.
