i just got a brand new backdraft today, and i broke into the engin by letting the first tank run on idle, next 2 tanks slow driving, den one tank medium driving and then full speed. after this it was good for couple more tanks but then i took a 20 min break and now it starts fine and idles forever but when i try to move it or give it gas it shuts right away.
whats wrong and how can i fix it? any help will be great

thank you

I bought the Earthquake 3.5 for our son and ran into the same problem. It seemed to be the air/fuel mix was off (to lean). When the throttle opens there is not enough fuel in the mix and it stalled or sputtered. Most often stalled. Try putting everything back to the original settings(idle adj. and air/fuel adj) or back to the breakin settings. I did it like that and got the truck moving again.  I adjusted the settings from there and it seems like I may have got it right. Still new to nitro RC but it's still a 2 cycle engine and the same rules apply to them. Some  research showed that these little guys are VERY touchy about adjustments so go slow. Good luck!

Your low speed needle is too rich, it idles fine yes but when you give it some throttle the engine is bogging down and shutting off, keep leaning it out with small 1/8 turns untill you can turn it on, let it idle, then give it throttle without it shutting off i used to have this problem with my tornado but after tuning it right she just starts up and goes!

once im done the break-in process, I always install a new glow plug. the breakin is rough on glow plugs. A bad glow plug will sometimes allow the engine to start and idle but not rev up.
Always check the simple things...before adjusting the needles!
