Hi,
Recently I bought this f-86 from David Reifer in calif. It was built and nicely painted. I went through the jet making some minor changes and updates to the control systems.Did some weathering, added drop tanks and installed a P-80se. I took her to the field on sat and got two flights and i am happey to report this is one nice flying jet!! Too bad this kit is not made any more. I like the size (77"x77") as it is easier for me to haul around and it fits in my truck assembled.I am looking forward to getting some more flights today
Vin..
Thanks uncle joe for the cool pics!!

Vin...you switched your allegiance! Less Migs and more American Iron!! The F-86 and the T-33 look great!

Wow gorgeous, Vin you got all the great toys!

Questions:

1.) What scale?
2.) How are the slats actuated?
3.) What is the finish (paint I assume but what kind)?

Anyway great looking plane, hope to dust mine off and fly with you guys again.

Hey uncle, you got the Corsair done yet?

John,
Your settings were right on. Btw the Gear work perfect on the 5 flights I have done far. I need to get rid of some gas as the 116oz is too much and adding to my take off run.
Matt,
I don't know what scale it is but this jet is slightly smaller than the big bvm saber. The slats have 3421 servos. It was painted when I bought it. Maybe David Reifer can comment. Do you have one of these in a box??

Very nice.

I like the Sabre in the weathered all metal look rather than the camo schemes. Nicely done.

Very nice Vincent. Funnily enough I did almost exactly the same recently. I bought the Fibreclassics F-86 from John Wright which was already built and painted and test flown, I made my changes, did the weathering and installed a Wren 100. Had my maiden with it 2 weeks ago. Lovely plane isn't it, and mine was rock steady on final approach with everything hanging out in the breeze.

One thing I haven't got and would love is the drop tanks. Where did you get yours from, and how did you attach them to the wing? Are there reinforced areas or hidden attachment points inside the moulded wing?

cheers

Harry

bellissimo!!! i need one!!

Hi Chris,
I would like to find another one too!!!

Harry,
The tanks i used are from the 1/6.5 Skymaster F-86. I was concerned about cutting into the wing so i just hysoled the pylons to the skin.I glued some small alum bracks too the pylon sides to make them more rigid. The tanks are removable with a couple of small servo screws, it works!!!

Hey, Dom....i still have a Mig-21 in my fleet and will be flying it this weekend...

Thankyou everyone for the great comments. If there is another FC F-86 out there that needs a good home let me know...
Vin...
