Whats a good sport jet for a K170F turbine?

Would like:

Gear Doors
Good Speed
Ease of flight.

I have looked at the big sky master viper, Carf Ultra Flash

Viper looks good but people have said its not the best for going fast.

Would like to keep the entire cost of the kit delivered under $5000.00 with all the bells & whistles. DOES not need to be painted have access to a body shop / paint booth and will use own design.

Thanks for your input.

I'd recommend a Pirotti Tuono (as i have one and its beautiful) but you'll have to make the doors (but i do have the moulds).

Yes, Tuono should be a good choice. I would say go for the C-ARF viper jet, great quality and flying characteristics. I have flown the Skygate one which is the same.

Chatty.

Have you seen the new C-Arf Viper? It will be faster than the SM as it is smaller.

The US dealer is: Vogelsang Aeroscale in North Carolina and the kit is manufactured by Tomahawk in Germany.

http://www.vogelsang-aeroscale.com/jetstomahawk.html

That should get you there.... there are two versions of the plane, 1.9 and 2.5 Meter

Good luck

I have the Airworld Cougar, flown with a Rhino and Jetcat 160, so the 170 would be great and the airplane handles like a trainer, fast slow, easy to land.

is skygate this same as Composite ARF? Cheifaircraft has them listed but they are using C-ARF schemes?

Here's something interesting that has scale appeal and also not a "meee tooo" jet:

http://www.altecare.com/m346.htm

MB 346 from C&C models. I think Altecare may even have some stock....

Probably don't need much power at all for a Futura. A K-170 would be overkill, as a P-20 should do nicely. These jets are so ugly they fly mostly due to the Earth repelling them

Another option if you don't want to go sport is a scale or at least semi-scale JL -F-4. The thicker airfoil on the JL-F4 makes it a docile flier and 37 lbs is plenty of push as witnessed by this video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EInnRANOm7s
Takeoff weight is around 42-43 lbs.

Most of the flight other than takoff & verticals is done at half throttle, and as you can see... it has good slow flight characteristics. I think there is an unpainted version listed in the marketplace.

There are a few people here who stuffed P-200s in the large Viper (myself included), so the K-170 will not be a problem.

I flew my Large Viper Jet powered by P-140RX very well, the k-170 should be much better,

I have the large Skymaster Viperjet and I love it. Very easy plane to fly and landings are easy since the plane is a floater.

The other plane that maybe you could like is the Comp Arf Tutor. Scale plane that can be flown very slow if need it.
