Hello ya'll I looking to buy a crawler and I have been browsing around and I'm
Debating on buying the ax10 the venom crawler or the Komodo crawler I like the
Venom and the Komodo due to the driveshaft factor just so I can go toward the scaler
Image but my buddie swears up and down the moa crawlers are king but I'm not a huge fan of moa's
Please what should I do ?

First, we need to establish whether or not you plan to compete. If so then yes MOA is king and you would be hard pressed to win or place well against other MOA rigs! However, if only plan to bash or free crawl then you could find plenty of fun in a shafty. Scale comping is whole other matter. There are lots of market support for either type so you could build either to however much you could/want to afford.

Good luck with your choice and welcome tithe obsession! It's a sickness!

All 3 of the crawlers you listed are shaftys.  If you're looking at going for a scaler...why not buy a scaler to begin with?  It's pretty likely that if you converted those rigs to a scaler that you would invest as much, if not more money than you would have if you bought a scaler in the first place.   Here are some things to think about:

Do you plan to compete?  If Yes, buy something comp worthy...an AX10 is a good start for a sportsman rig, but a MOA rig would be more competitive.

What's your budget for EVERYTHING (crawler, electronics, battery(s), charger?

Do you want your rig to be able to climb over most things in sight and articulate like a circus contortionist...or are you content with sacrificing performance for scale looks?

What do other people in your area run?  If everyone runs scalers and you buy an AX10...I can almost guarantee you'll convert it to a scaler.

If you know other crawlers in your area...befriend them and ask them if you can run their trucks, if you've never ran one before.  Then you'll get an idea of what you like and don't like.

The rc4wd rig you listed is a comp rig based around Bully 2.2 axles.  If you're planning on comping...a rig with Bully axles is a nice, strong choice.  Again, if you want scale looks, that's a terrible way to go.

You should have gotten the SCX10 scaler.

Yep can only do so much on a budget but the scx10 would stretch your scale budget so much further in terms of performance and scale appearance. Good luck with your budget safari
