The 20 will have the edge in power.... if you need a ton of lead to balance, and dont want to use "dead weight" go with the g23

i think the 23 weighs over a pound and a half more

As a Nosen Citabria owner, I don't get why you're saying C.G. is not an issue? Or do you just want the issue left out for purposes of this decision?

You're prepared for "scale" power levels with either of these choices?

Another comparison is starting... the G-23 on mag pretty much requires a starter.

Before my G23 was converted to CD ignition it was ever so easy to hand start, and I only switched ignitions to lose some weight for my Goldberg Extra.

Hi Karol... that is interesting. I've one that will do a lot of popping but is otherwise difficult to hand start. Enough so that I no longer make the attempt. I wonder if it is where I'm parking the prop. Should I park it at 10 o'clock and back from the compression and slap start it and let it gain speed through the compression?

Mine has no choke plate and if she is only popping maybe the carb is not wet enough, as most all Zens like being very wet prior to starting. I can't recall the exact prop position, but can remember that initially I used to have problems hand starting until I used the prop position as described in the manual, and I then began slapping the prop right through compression from about 3' oclock and down and away on the back side and she would start up quite easily with that method.

Yeah... mine has no choke plate either. I do however have a hole in the cowl in line with the venturi and use a syringe with a tube measured to go into the venturi to prime. I'll go back and read the starting instructions. Thanks for the heads up as it is the only gas engine I've got that has been requiring a starter that has to be run on 24v and thus needs two batteries I'd rather not be fooling with.
