Another great day of clear blue skies was ordered for todays Elvington jet meet. There are probably not many model flying clubs in the world that can muster such a wide variety of jets and jet flyers as Elvington just for a normal club day. Pretty much something for everyone from scratch built large scale Panther, Mig 29's, Flashes, Spook, Boomerangs and more.

Enjoy the pics, roll on next Sunday

Rob.

That's my Eurosport. After 6 years with my original Purple Mk1 ES, and then a couple of years without one (I retired the old girl), I just could not live without another one.
It has the same early Merlin 160 engine in it and it will still take the ES into unlimited verticals with full fuel tanks. Now 7 years old it has never missed a beat. Multiplex M-Link radio, likewise has never missed a beat.

Some really good pictures Rob, landing looked really great on the Mig aswell Ian, looks to fly really well, and better still with the Smoke On The Ultra Flash (Shui Scheme) is brand new and was on its first visit to Elvington, we made 3 flights and after the Down Elevator / Flap Mix had been adjusted (Thanks for the help Rob), it flew very well, surprisingly not much faster than our Classic Flash with the same Fully Bypassed Wren SuperSport, guided by Futaba FASST. Paul Lawton's 2ft high Low Passes and Looooonnnnggg Slow Rolls with the L39 were a highlight of the day aswell as Harry Sykes showing his usual skills with their new CARF Tutor.

I must admit, I was surprised to find you didnt go in the end Carl, I thought you may change your mind once youd seen the weather, ahh well Carlos, plenty more to go at over the next few months, plus it looks this year like there'l be more people flying at the Jet Weekend in July as not everyone is going to Jets over Pampa this year. Hopefully the weather will be kind again on Sunday but just incase any of the other days are better, there is a Fly In at Winterton Model Club from Friday through to Monday night (6th, 7th, 8th and 9th of April), Im thinking of venturing down there if the weather will play ball just incase Sunday's Weather is the usual Its a really good Jet friendly site, Pilot registration I think is about £5, there is a link to the site below, if anyone fancies going, give us a bell or email if you like and we could maybe meet up for some Breaky before hand.

You mean to say that my uninspiring sedate flights with my new Nano, with the gear that wouldn't go up and the dodgy engine wasn't the highlight of the day

What sort of an excuse is no petrol, Carl? You've changed

Where are the rest of the flying shots Rob?

Should be some more coming but progress is slow, combination of poor camera work by me and having way too high a resolution setting.

That was both; 2nd of my list of highlights and the very next post I was about to make until I noticed you'd already mentioned it Theres nothing wrong with that Darren, everyone has to put up with the delights of Test Flights, we were gutted when one of the Mains on the Ultra decided it wasnt going to come down.......the paint order to CARF was very nearly written and sent before the plane landed.....2 circuits later, all 3 were down Godd dammn Behotec 3 Way Valve ......Godd dammn muppet who set it up

You have changed Carlos, I remember times back in the day where you would never pass up the opportunity to have at least 17 or 18 flights with your Flash

Ian P was kind enough to handle my camera while I was flying and he took a few short vids and some stills, not had time yet to upload the vids. Would be great if you couple get some video action.

I reckon you will be there Carl even if the weather is S***e

Another great day at Elvington over the Easter break, had to leave early as I had a wedding to attend but still managed to get 3 more flights in with the UF. Also did some home brewed smoke fluid testing which seemed to go ok, got a different brew to try next time. It looks like there could be a good photo opportunity low and slow with the smoke on swirling into the vortices in the jet wake.

Geoff successfully carried out the first flight of an Alphajet, just like a big trainer and landing was spot on.

Thanks Rob, I didn't have to do much really! Like a trainer, as you say, and handled pretty well in the stiffening wind. It needs a bit of tweaking yet but it seemed very solid and predictable.
Your UF looked good - how I wish I did Comp-ARF sometimes

Sorry about the spelling Jeff, it was 50/50 I suppose. Nice to see something different like the AJ, heres a relieved owner I think.

Flash flies great probably why they have sold over 1000 of 'em.

Shame Mr. Huxford didn't make it again, was looking forward to seeing the maiden of his Mig, they seem to fly well also.

Does anyone know where the Canadian plane in the first picture on the first post came from?

.

So was i, i was doing the final checks on it saturday night when the U/C fill valve started leaking, which meant both the front equpiment trays had to come back out, (just seems like this plane doesn't want to fly) Anyway that caused all the teddies to be thrown out of the cot and i couldnt be bothered to get the flash ready.

I will be at the next one and the mig will fly, the next one is the 6th isn't it?
