Dick, brilliant day as always, really appreciate the 'relaxed' way this event runs but with all safety checks being performed is the proper way.

Maidened the new Gryphon, tested the new E-brakes and got the Stinger v2 in the air again (well Ali did ;-)) and all went very well other than a main fuel tank clunk issue.

Cheers

Dick

You are more than welcome, as you have said without a team around you it would and could not happen...but its the man you are that make these people want to help you out time and again.
I feared you might be slow and thought about building the model before I came I'm sure big G will bully you to get it done, formation flying with them is so much fun!
The gaurantee runs out end of the month so you better get it flying soon

Dave

Dave, he's dropping by for dinner tomorrow after flying, so he'll have it built before he goes home!

Perfect! Hollow out the tailplane where the elevator wire comes out (its quite long) you can put the excess in the void. Other than the trick on the boom fixing that's it...he'll have it done before he leaves

Yet another great day at C Jets... Thanks once again to Dick and his team. The massive effort does not go un-noticed or unappreciated by all of us that attend. Happy 50th and roll on the next 50! ( has it really been that many? I still remember going to the very first ones )
Regards Al

Dave,

As Dick says, I am off to his place for dinner tomorrow and the intention is to build his venom afterwards. I am practising the build on mine today!
The biggest problem I have to deal with now is the fact that Dick is never going to believe anything I say to him again

Geoff.

What a great day, many thanks to Dick and the team for organising it. There were more jets flying during the day than I can ever recall at any event. 5 in the air almost all the time and no collisions and only a few undercarriage issues for some. Very good piloting skills by all pilots. The best Classic Jets ever, thank you Dick!

Hi Dick,
I haven't taken my father to a jet bash since the the early 90's at Kemble, and I don't think that there was a single turbine there, only DF!
I had also forgotten that the size of the aircraft then was determined by the combination normally that of an OS 91 DF and Ramtech
fan unit! Dad was like a young child in a sweet shop almost unable to take it all in! One thing that he picked up on was how well the whole thing was organised, this from the catering to the health and safety, he said it was a real credit to you and the team. He asked me to pass on his thanks for such a fantastic day!

He also said that he was really taken back by the standard to which everybody builds and finishes their models!!!!!!!
I did tell him in the end that a large number of the models there were pre finished items, needing the installation of engine, radio etc......

I'd like to join everybody else in saying a big thank you for yet another great event, and look forward to the next one!

All the best

John.

Just a couple of notices -

Firstly, a couple of taxi tanks were left behind yesterday. One of them has the owners name, Steve Triggs, written on it. Dave Wilshere has it for you. The other one is unmarked so if you have lost yours get in touch.

Secondly, a big thank you to everyone who contributed to the whip round to help pay for Dicks Venom/Lipos as it helped to ease the burden on the Ali/Dave/Colin.

Geoff.

A truly fantastic day! and nice that with it being the 50th event it also concided with record attendance! I flew Dizz's EDF Supermarine Attacker twice and i have to admit that it does go very well, although i think t could definitely benefit from the addition off flaps as given its weight the landing can be quite quick, the rudder retro mod has worked very well too!

Being quite heavily contaminated by electrons after those flights, i had to cleanse myself with kero so had a blast around with my trusty Bobcat.

Of all the high end exotica that was present at CJ 50, the model that impressed me the most was Ali's sample of the E-flite MIG-15 . . . . . i just love it!! and had good duration aswell.

One last note HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEOFF 'The G' WHITE!!!

Have to say, I agree with Loz on this one. Having said that, the Turbinator makes Boomers look quite good! That thing is hideous!!

I would like to add my thanks to Dick and the team for an  absolutely brillaint day at Abingdon; loved every minute yesterday.

The ESC data makes interesting reading - I can tell you are being seduced by the dark side, the Mig is electric too.
Good flying though matey, my turn next!  Am working on the flap issue - discussed it with Pete on the way home and I was going to build a new set of wings, but having looked at the flap arrangement (I had thought they were split flaps) I think I can modify the current wings in fairly short order.   I will just need to be sure to have them ready for Scampton.

Dizz
