I purchased a electronic ignition from RCEXL for my zenoha g38 to relpace my magneto. My question is I was told byRCEXL that I have to cut  a large hole in belly behind fire wall to insert the sparkplug cap thru so I can get it to the engine.I dont want to make a large hole like that.Is there a way I can take the cap off and insert the wire thru the fire wall?? Than insert the cap?  Are all electronic ignition wires like this,To bad i couldnt unscrew the wire from the spark plug cap and run it thru the fire wall than  hook  cap   back on allowing hole to be small thru  firewall

The braid on the spark plug wire will ruin in no time if it touches shomething hard while the engine is running.

Do you have space to mount the ignition in front of the firewall? If you do you will just need a small hole for wires to go to the battery.

Make a big hole, leave the plug wire intact. Make a plug with a notch in for the wire add a grommet and glue it in.

It`s a good method to use RCexl " High-voltage wire repair kits ".

1.Drill a 6-7mm diameter hole on your firewall ,
2.cut your high-voltage wire
3.Use " High-voltage wire repair kits " to repair your high-voltage wire .

As noted, just use a rubber grommet. Cut the hole just big enough for the cap and you'll need a little notch for the ridge in the cap, put in the grommet and you're in business....

I just line the hole with split foam tubing or something similar. Protects the cable from damage and closes the hole. What could be simpler.

Regarding the ignition for the G38, did you get the one for 5/8" hex plugs or 3/4"? The one for 5/8" would take a much smaller hole. You could even downsize to a CM -6 size plug with an adapter and the cap would be even smaller.

Worse case .... just remove and replace the plug cap. New ones are not that expensive.
