Hi,
Simple Question, but's really done me in, have spent hours playing woth my 12 FG.
What I have is 1 servo flap, and ahve set a mix to mix in some down elevator.
I am using the LD switch.

So have the flap working fine, fully left, flaps are up, middle, flaps are at 50 percent, fully right, flaps fully deployed.

What I have then tried to do is set another mix, that will inhibit the flaps from working, above a low throtel setting, of my choice.
Try as I might, just can't seem to do it.

Can someone help?

I am sure it will be easy.
Regards from 'Down Under'.

You use a condition. Create a new condition, set it to the throttle so that the condition is turned on when the throttle is above the desired point. Go into the AFR section and then the flap channel. Turn on the condition. Set the flap channel to SINGL. Now set the AFR curve to a flat line: RateA and RateB to 0%. Now set the offset so that the flaps are retracted. When you turn the condition on, the flaps should go to the retracted position. When the condition is off, the flaps will work as desired.

If you have more than two conditions, then the condition that has the flaps turned off must be the last one on the list. That takes priority over all other conditions.

Hi Bax,
well using the Condition worked,
However I have the following Condition set.
Default condition, named NORMAL
Med-Rate
High-Rate
Have programed all the Ailerons,Elevators as required.
Now I add the new condition, as per you post, and now as soon as the throttle is moved to above the 25% postion that I have set, which activates the fourth condition to make sute Flaps cannot deploy above 25% throttle, if I had Hi-rate selected, it defaults to the Normal. Is there an easy way around this, or do I have to now go an reprogram all my surfaces throw with the new condition?

If you want the condition for flaps, then use rates for the other channels, unless you have more settings. Use dual-rates 1 and 2 for ailerons and dual rates 3 and 4 for elevators. Then, you have two conditions and the rates will follow the conditions if the Aileron and Elevator AFRs are set to "Group".

Not sure what you mean, "Use dual-rates 1 and 2 for ailerons and dual rates 3 and 4 for elevators. Then, you have two conditions and the rates will follow the conditions if the Aileron and Elevator AFRs are set to "Group".

"
Can you elaborate, give an example set up?

You need to set up rates for the aileron.

Go into the Dual Rate section of the Model Menu.
Set Rate #1 to Aileron, and set it to a 3-position switch set to be "off-on-off"
Set Rate #2 to Aileron, and set it to a 3-position switch set to be "off-of-on"

Now you have 3 positions for the aileron rates.

Set Rate #3 to Elevator, and set it to a 3-position switch set to be "off-on-off"
Set Rate #4 to Elevator, and set it to a 3-position switch set to be "off-of-on"

You can use the same switch for both ailerons and elevators.

Exit the Dual Rate section and enter the AFR section.

Set it to Aileron, and put the switch the default position, which is the "on-off-off" position. Adjust the AFR you want for the default. Move the switch to the "off-on-off" position. The #1 should highlight at the bottom of the screen. Set the AFR you want for that rate. Do the same for #2.

Now, set to Elevator and repeat the process.

If you have only set the other conditions to give you different aileron and elevator rates, then you can eliminate those conditions and go back to having two conditions.

Personally, I like having the flaps on a control I don't use much, like a slider, so I leave them operating all the time. Having them turn off above a certain throttle setting may be adding needless complexity. Sliders also have the advantage that they don't move too easily with an accidental touch.

Thanks Bax,
That make sense.
The only reason I wanted the flaps to linked with the throttle, was more to NOT allow the flaps to work if the throttle was above a certain setting. My thinking was so they could not in advertently activated if you were flying around a t high throttle, thought it might be a bit dangerous if the flaps were deployed at full speed. So it was more for a saftey thing I guess.
But form a practical sense, thinking if I was set up for a landing (flaps deployed) and decided or needed to do a go around, by advancing the throttle the flaps would be raised, without having to concentrate on adjusting sliders ir knobs or switches etc, especially if the go around was a bit of an emergency.

I will ste up and test out the settings you have listed.
Thanks,BT
