How far is too far and why would you do it???

I recently delivered a FO Tamiya KT while I was in the UK with Dennis & Steve. While I was there I chatted him up about RC tank clubs. I wasn't sure he would join, but he did. It was only about 4,000 miles. But it was worth it. Welcome Robert Taylor to NEAD.

Welcome aboard!
Now, for the icing on the cake, can you get him to the Sunday battleday?

I don't think it will be feasible this time Joe. I'll attach a picture of why he couldn't make it to Bovington's Tiger day either.

Now I know that the KT was a really heavy tank, but that one doesn't look heavy enough to do that to him! Welcome to the N.E.A.D. group.

You saved a mint by not posting it Bob, I've been trying to get a box of 18" tree's shipped over from my old club buddies in Detroit, and its going to cost an arm and a leg compared to what it did when I did the same for the UK 1/16 club just 12 months ago

Oh, btw, can you PM me with the link to the NEAD Yahoo group - now that I've lost my old sbc email account I need to re-enlist

Bob did not mention the number of gray hairs I got driving those back roads of Dorset, England. Paved cow paths is what they were. They even had cow patties on them. Even the cows had the poop scared out of them being on those roads. I enjoyed driving in England but it is not something I am in any hurry to do again soon. I am looking forward to the Extravaganza. I should be picking up a tank while I am there if I can figure out which one I want. Dennis

I believe you Martin. My 1 ton dually Silverado would not fit on those roads. I thank you again for helping us out. You even got us out to the Aviation Museum which was a real treat. Four excellent museums and the experiences we had are priceless. Now if I can get over this sinus infection I will be a happy camper. Dennis

Unfortunately he did it at work Herman. Now he'll have plenty of free time to paint the KT and the JP upper hull he is painting for me to match the Panther G I traded him for. He did a fantastic job and I want a JP upper to match it perfectly.

You know my level of comminment, Karen. Or how I should be committed...or something to that effect. How are things progressing at the Musuem for the Extravaganza? We shuld have a nice turnout.

It cost him quite a few quid to send it to me. Thats why I threw in the VW Kafer so I wouldn't feel so guilty.

Bob, the extravaganza is coming along nicely - This year I turned the whole thing over to Natasha and she is doing a wonderful job.  One last headache that I do not have to deal with.  Anyways things are going well - got about 9 talk to the tanker participants, about 6 or 7 vendors of militaria and such - guns for demonstration have been all cleaned and prepared for firing, flamethrower in great shape, and the tank is just waiting to crush something.  All the signs are out, advertising is finished, advance tickets are selling (slow but the advertising has not kicked in yet so look out once that happens Natasha and I will be at full capacity with ticket sales).  The grenade and dart throwing booths are all set up and so is the paintball shooting range.  Should be a great event over all!   There is a battlefield work day going on today to prep the field for all the RC battlers.  So at this point we are kind of breezing our way thru  day by day until the Friday before  the event, then we will go into high speed mode for the next 3 days. Looking forward to seeing all the tankers having fun once again!  13 days and counting - I can not believe we have done this for 9 years now, just hope we can keep it up.  OH there will be an addition to the event this year - we have a singer that will delight and entertain with many of the war time tunes, so put your dancing shoes on and enjoy!
See ya all soon!
Karen
